I was at the Annex today for a baby shower. I hadn’t had RO pizza in so long and was stoked to try some of the new menu items. I scanned the QR code and selected a honey goat cheese flatbread (for me), a small bbq chicken pizza (for my fiancé) and the jalapeño popper cheese sticks (just to try). The bbq chicken and the jalapeño popper cheese sticks arrived in around half an hour but the flatbread wasn’t delivered with them. Someone else at the baby shower mentioned that they had an item lag but it came shortly after so I waited. I eventually asked the bartender at the annex about it and he walked over to check, came back and said “they’re bringing it”. Around 30 more minutes passed and I told the bartender it still hadn’t arrived, he then told me I would need to walk over to the counter inside Mirror Twin to inquire about the item and a potential refund. I walked over to find a decent crowd (after church and memorial day weekend so I def understand being slammed) but the interaction with the staff honestly added insult to injury. There was no active order line so I stood where I could be seen and waited. A guy on the line half acknowledged me twice and walked away both times I tried to say anything. (Camera footage will likely show this) after a few minutes a female food runner/expo walked by me with an order and said she’d be right with me, I said ok. When she came back I explained the missing item, the kind of crazy lag and the fact I didn’t need it anymore and wanted a refund. She called over someone with the admin ability to process refunds and that guy asked what the item was as well as what else was on the order. I asked if it was ever made and he said “well we’re working on it we’re just understaffed” and I can understand an understaffing issue, I’ve served, bartended, cashiered, ran expo you name it, but that is also how I know there is absolutely no way that an one item out of 3 lagging for near an hour was the result of anything other than negligence, a forgotten item or poor planning. And EVEN then an apology would have helped immensely. They said my refund would be processed in 2 days so we’ll see if I get it but with the apathetic and passive response from management I’m not exactly holding my breath.

Ironically enough I used to work for Nick (owner) almost ten years ago when there was only the truck and no fully established brick and mortar locations. So while this is a critical review it’s also a heads up that the other reviews I’ve seen on service are likely accurate. Nick is clearly a busy guy and delegates the work load the best way he sees fit but if I were him I’d get ground level with my management, identify the weak spots and go over customer service protocols with them a few more times. The food is too good to be tarnished by...

First of all the location is nice and the property overall is pretty great. Several options of sitting locations including some outdoor pods, just plain outdoor or several indoor options. We chose to sit indoors for this specific lunch. The food we ordered was the Fat Sticks which tasted great and the Thai Chili Chicken pizza of which tasted fantastic. The crust was cooked in the Wood Fire ovens perfectly and the flavor combination was a great blend of sweet and spicy. One opportunity would be around the service. First of all when you go in it isn't obvious how or where you order. You don't sit down and your order is taken you actually go up to the bar and order from there. There were two at the Bar assuming one was a bartender and the other was more of a server but again no obvious signs. There was someone that appeared to be ordering at the bar and my daughter and I waited patiently behind the person ordering. They finished and we stepped up to place the order. The young lady we greeted asked if we were getting the lunch special with a beer and I explained we were getting pizza and no beer and she immediately said we had to order at the other end. There was no one at the other end but we went down and waited while she stepped back over and started talking to someone sitting at the bar. About 3-4 minutes later the other server came over and took our order and we paid along with having to tip before any service was provided. While I know this is becoming more typical in the food industry it's odd how you have to make a decision on how much you are going to tip before any level of service is provided or any food has been tasted. We picked a spot and waited. When the food was ready the same person we ordered from set the food on the table without saying a single word and walked away. As I stated above the food tasted fantastic but there is a way to make this overall experience...

UPDATE JULY 2025: Everything below still applies. We decided against our better judgement to give them another go. Still the same. Food was decent, but they can’t get 2 items ordered at the same time out at the same time. We arrived just before noon on a Saturday. Place was not at all crowded. My wife ordered French toast and I ordered a chicken sandwich. Her food came out about 20 minutes after ordering and mine came out 40 minutes after ordering, so she was finished eating when mine arrived. Totally unacceptable, in my opinion. If there’s a wait on certain dishes then let me know when I order. I’ll be cool with it if you tell me or I’ll order something else. But we didn’t even get an apology for the order delivery discrepancy. Not going back. I also see the supposed owner responding to other reviews posted before and after this one, but doesn’t seem to want to acknowledge mine.

ORIGINAL REVIEW MAY 2025: We used to go here all the time. The location and atmosphere were always great. Food is overpriced, but was generally always good. However, the service quality has steadily gone down hill. I understand that a lot of the staff are young and inexperienced, but if that’s going to be the case there should be an older, experienced supervisor on hand. Half the time it looks like they’re clueless behind the counter. If you order from the table and make any adjustments, be prepared for your order to be wrong. Extra toppings that you pay for will be left off or you’ll get the wrong stuff. We stopped going after we waited for 45 minutes for the first half of our order and then another 20 for the rest. It’s just too expensive for the service quality, and honestly, the food isn’t really worth the price to begin with. There’s better/as good pizza for the same, or less, elsewhere...

Okay, so after initially having a not so great experience here, we gave it another shot because we are constantly at Mirror Twin. Monet was just about the nicest server I’ve ever had here, give her a raise!! 😂 very communicative, friendly and bright. Goat cheese flat bread is excellent. Light, crispy crust and a good covering of toppings. Only recommendation would be to do make a whipped goat cheese to make it more spreadable and even across the whole thing. 8/10 Bruschetta is really fresh, but could use a bit more seasoning. Bread is really good too, still crunchy on the bottom so it clearly hasn’t been sitting around. 7/10 Maple bacon pizza is a 10/10 today. Good topping proportions and spread. Great amount of char. Who ever was doing it was paying attention.

Literally worst experience ever lol Small, sad pizza with burnt chorizo and crust, frozen shrimp straight out of walmart, and 28mins waiting. Did it taste ok? Hell no. It is bland, absolutely no flavor. Hey. Go find out the good dough receipe at least. How can you fail a pizza? For real. Even worse, they charged 24 dollar for this abomination. How much does it actually cost to make your pizza? Let me guess. hmm. $1.3 bucks for shrimp, $0.6 for chorizo, $0.8 for dough, $0.2 for veggies, $0.05 for oregano, and $0.2 for olive oil, cheeses, and extra flour to finish? Maybe around $3 - 4 bucks for whole pizza. Here's 3 tips I can give you: Oak wood, 485ºC, and 70 seconds. Lexington pizza week? $6 for two small slice of pizza that isnt even worth? Seriously?
