The Bar Complex — Restaurant in Lexington

Recently visited and will not be back! This is not a safe place! Shortly after arriving, my friend group went to the restroom where they found a young lady unresponsive in the restroom floor the bouncers came in and gave a little assistance while our friends called emergency services. They moved the young lady and carried her down a back stairwell. While looking for the rest of our friend group, the bouncers screamed in my fiancé‘s face and were extremely rude. Emergency services arrived and was unable to locate the young lady and ended up leaving. As we were leaving the bouncers were antagonistic, and that was the first time we saw the owner through the chaotic evening. If only there were more stars to rate, because The Bar has so many stars inside!!! My partner and i went last night...lets just say we want to be regulars!!! We were a little nervous, because 1) We have never been to a club of any kind (We don't get a baby sitter often) and 2) we are in a heterosexual relationship and were not sure if the atmosphere would be open to that. Everyone was beyond nice, from the doorman to the bartenders to the queens. I feel welcome and at home every minute. The outfits were like something out of vogue magazine, the humor was sharp and witty, the elegance was overwhelmingly stellar. First time going out in Lexington. The Bar Complex was super fun. However, I was disappointed with my drink. The venue itself is nice and spacious. The bar seems more like a dive bar. They seem to pride themselves of their bartender not having professorial training, but I’m not sure if they have unprofessional training either. I wanted an old fashioned and the bartender said no. (Which is fine) When I said never mind he made it any way and it was super gross. It tasted like Haribo Coca Cola gummies. I got the impression he was pushing a sale, which I did not appreciate (The drink itself was cheap so that’s nice.) So unless you’re looking for a simple drink, get your cocktail somewhere else.
