Tacosteño Seafood — Restaurant in Leyden Township

First and foremost, food was absolutely amazing, all around the table. My wife and I set reservations 2 days prior to coming for our party with my in laws. When we arrived 30 minutes before our reservation, which luckily we did so we could enjoy a drink before our party arrived, because didn’t even remember our reservation and were turning people away at the door. We sat at the bar with 3 workers behind bar and in front of us and we had to greet them and ask for a drink menu after sitting there for fifteen minutes. It then took another 15 minutes for our drink. Let me remind you not a big place and more then enough employees working. We then sat at our table and ordered. Mariana was our waitress, and it was horrible service. We didn’t even get drinks we ordered with the food until we got the check. Not to mention, no water with spicy salsas, didn’t receive the salsa we ordered with the food, while bringing it to our servers attention multiple occasions throughout the meal, which she acknowledged and even apologized twice for and still didn’t bring it. We also, received the wrong item we ordered and she did nothing about and still charged us for the item we didn’t order. Took me 25 minutes to get to go box, which we had to ask a different waitress for along with the check. Lastly, we had a party of 5 and got charged a large party surcharge and tip which is suppose to be for 6 or more people. And then we got charged an additional custom fee which we have no idea what it was for because nobody was present to be able to help us. So instead of wasting another 30 minutes waiting to get an answer we bit the bullet and paid it because we drove over an hour to eat at...

Let me tell you I’ve been looking forward to eating at this place for the longest. Some Franklin park restaurants don’t last too long so when I seen it was still holding up I couldn’t help to be curious. Looked on tik tok and seen that the food looked really delicious and appetizing. Well…. It was a complete disappointment lol !! I’m so annoyed that I paid the amount I did with the food and service we received. We sat down and ordered our food pretty quickly. Other customers came in after us and sat down ordered and received their food first, mind you we ordered drinks and only had that for 45 min! Our waitress barely attended us we had to get attention from another waitress so we can ask for what we needed. Then when my husbands plate came out it legit looked like popcorn shrimp in red chilli sauce, Nothing compared to the videos on tik tok my daughters tender plate looked more appetizing and filling then what we ordered. A $22.00 plate is ridiculous for what was given, then I received a longastino plate and I was flabbergasted the plate was literally the size of a small appetizer plate lol I couldn’t help but laugh and make the best of it. Needless to say there’s wayyyy better seafood restaurants around the area near North Ave lol. At least I can say that we tried it but definitely not the taste or representation I...

The place is very clean especially the kitchen, the menu is sort of large, the dishes passed by me while waiting for my order looks really good and the smells indicate the taste must be delicious.

I will change two things in this place, I saw the lady performing as a hostess, waiter, cashier, and whatever else. Also, I saw the bartender helping in all she needed with customers , kitchen and bar and drinks. They were doing great but those 3 busy tables in the center really messed with their efforts serving the customers at that time. Pulling off one of the tables will solve the big problem they were facing.

The second thing to fix is the gap of waiting time, these 2 persons were trying hard and I think they have the job more than well done but I have to wait for 43 mins maybe little more only for one (1) torta (to go), seriously? I saw the next two tables after me, serviced with drinks and food.

All this was my perception when visiting, looking for a seafood sandwich, oyster poboy (sandwich Louisiana style) but no seafood...
