This has always been our favorite Mexican restaurant! The food and service has always been great and consistent. We have previously enjoyed this restaurant at least once a week and the service staff even knew what we all drink and brought extra chips and salsas for our table. Unfortunately today 8/14/20 that all went down the shoot! We walked in as we normally do and asked to sit at a table instead of the small booths they have. Today we were told to sit in the booth and just move the table out. That would be absolutely fine if there wasn't any tables available and there wasn't four large adults trying to sit together. There was only one other couple eating in the restaurant at 3:45 when we arrived and still only one other couple there while we were there. Instead the server instead we sit at the booth not the open tables when asking about the table. We placed our order and just before our food come out the server threw down four packs of plastic ware to use to eat our food. I asked when they changed to plastic ware and was told we have always had that so we can just throw it away. Was never offered silver ware at all even after asking! The other guest were not given plastic ware they had regular silver ware that we have received every other visit. After walking out to the patio we seen there was guest out on the patio eating and guess what they had silver ware as well, no plastic! When it was time to check out I asked the server why we were required to cram into a small booth and why only our table received plastic ware and there was no explanation! I had told him as he knows we are regulars at this restaurant and didn't understand why were being treated as we did today and said not so sure we will be back and he absolutely did not care! Read moreMy wife and I have loved El Caporal since we had it several years back at the Mason location. We moved and the liberty location became closer to us so we began going there. It was by far our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area and would often eat there or get take out at least once a week, even during the pandemic. Ever since they have moved up the street to their new location, formerly Frisch’s, the service has been absolutely horrible. We recently ate there last Friday for dinner, we sat outside on the patio. Initially we asked for an extra salsa with our chips along with a small queso. The queso came out but no extra salsa, it was brought out several minutes later. Our food came out rather quick, which was the only positive to this experience. As the food was being given to us, I asked if we could have a high chair, several minutes go by and still no high chair. I ask another server if we could please have a high chair, once again, no high chair. I finally went inside and grabbed the high chair myself as well as napkins for our table since we weren’t given any. Our server never came to check on us after the food came out, my wife didn’t even get a refill on her pop because of this. I had to physically go inside and find our server to ask for the check, I then had to bring the check back inside in order to pay for it because the server still did not come outside to our table. The service has not been great the past few times that we had been to the new location but this was on a new level of poor service. This was the last straw for us and we will not be coming back. Read moreThey forgot the most important thing in the order...tortillas! I picked up a large fajita order and had 10 people waiting to eat as I unloaded the food. There were no tortillas. I called and they said they couldn't be here for 15 min. I asked for a manager to see if they could be here sooner and was waiting, then got hung up on! When I called back, the lady said I was being rude but I was trying to ask why not one person apologized then she got the mgr online and he said he wasn't going to be spoken to like this, when I was just trying to figure out why they didn't pack my order correctly, didn't get an apology, AND got hung up on. The situation could have been resolved if they had just apologized and tried to rectify the situation.
