Usually a good restaurant. But tonight I ordered a $57 family dinner with tip and delivery. The reason I ordered such a huge dinner just for myself is because I am working for the next two straight days, sleeping on the job site, and I have no car because my car is axle broke and I'm waiting to pick it up when it's done being fixed.
I ordered a dinner that is supposed to feed apparently 4 to 6 people. It was the grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, fruit, a family salad, etc
We'll start with the mashed potatoes and gravy, there's certainly is not enough gravy and for the amount of mashed potatoes they give you. I should take a star off just for that.
The salad that's supposed to feed a family is really like two side salads. But I got 12 cups of honey mustard dressing to put on those two servings of salad
I think I got at least 12 rolls. Even a family doesn't need that much bread
But the worst part is it didn't include any silverware. Or plastic ware. None. How is one supposed to eat all this food without any kind of utensils?
I called Bob Evans, and to be honest they're only about a mile and a half away from where I am if that. When I called I guess they had just closed even though they were still answering the phones.
I explained the situation including the fact that I ordered a family meal because that was going to be all I had to eat for the next couple days and I didn't have a car which is why I had it delivered.
I was told I could drive down and it would give me some plastic wear utensils.
I repeated that I did not have a car.
And I was told they could do nothing about it.
I can't count the number of breakfast I have had at that restaurant with my kids and my husband and my grandchildren. I have ordered family meals before when I was on a job site. I've spent a lot of money there.
Of course they don't know that I'm a regular customer when I call in tonight, but it shouldn't matter. They literally sold me a $50 meal that I really can't eat unless I want to stuff myself with bread and cookies because that's the only thing you don't need a utensil for.
It would be ridiculous to expect an open restaurant to send silverware on a moment's notice, even though they're the ones that forgot to put it in the bag. But when a restaurant is closing and the customer is as close as I am, it probably would have been a better tactic to have someone deliver the silverware on their way home so the customer could actually eat the food they paid $57 for.
Really disappointed an...
Read moreI feel bad for writing this review, because Bob Evans was a favorite restaurant of mine for many years. In fact, whenever I lived in another state that didn’t have Bob Evans and would come back home, I would eat there about 5 times during my week-long trip.
Unfortunately, the food at this establishment just isn’t good anymore. This isn’t only the Belmont Ave. location but an issue at most Bob Evans restaurants. We dined in this morning for breakfast at this location and the service and atmosphere were both great! Our waitress was attentive and the restaurant was clean and had been updated nicely since the last time I had dined there. The food, however, was gross. We hadn’t been to a Bob Evans in a couple of years so I was surprised that the menu was updated (with updated prices, of course). I ordered the Western Omelet and it was almost inedible. The egg was rubbery and lukewarm at best. The vegetables inside of the omelet weren’t even sautéed. They were raw: raw, crunchy onion and bell pepper, which are gross inside of an omelet. It seemed as if the egg was cooked separately than the contents inside. The hash brown was ok, but again it wasn’t even hot. It seems like the entire meal was sitting out for 30 minutes before being served. It was pretty pathetic. The only thing that tasted great was the toast, which is hard to mess up. My husband’s meal that contained sausage was hard, overcooked, and barely edible. He will eat just about anything and never complains, and even he complained that it tasted strange. At Bob Evans, diners used to be able to get a good meal at a good price. Now, the prices are comparable to everywhere else and the food is subpar. I’d recommend dining at a local restaurant...
Read moreMy parents and I decided to grab breakfast on 11/16/24 at the Liberty, Ohio Bob Evans. We were told to grab a seat wherever we wanted to, so we proceeded to pick a booth. We then met our waitress, Sandra. She asked us what we wanted to drink and my mother and I said our orders and my dad was telling him his drink order and he was talking mid sentence as she just walked away from him as he was still talking. We heard a beeping noise so we thought she just had to rush to that noise, no problem. She came back to give us our drinks and my dad started to tell her he wanted a pop as well and mid sentence she walked away AGAIN! We were so baffled by how she kept walking away from him when he was trying to talk to her! She came back with his other drink and LITERALLY tossed the straws at the table and walked away. I actually had to ask my dad if he knew her in the past because she treated him with so much disrespect. We started to observe how she treated her other customers and it was nothing like the way she was treating my father. At this point we felt so disrespected we just wanted to leave and go to the Dennys right down the road (which had the best waitress ever!) Sandra returned to grab our breakfast order but I couldn’t stand any longer of her just disrespecting us for no reason. We told her we would just take the bill so we wouldn’t bother her anymore. She proceeded to apologize to us about how the kitchen is so backed up, but i don’t see how that would make her treat us like that. I actually would like to know what her problem was with us, we left so confused and...
