In short: Outstanding donuts but horrible customer service. They should have a live tracker on their website that shows the percentage of donuts remaining at each location. On some days you can get there at 9am and they're pretty much sold out and other days they've got donuts till 2pm. It's bad business to not keep track of which days you have more customers (even as a customer I can see that Fridays are busier than Mondays) but if you ask, they say they literally have NO idea about customer traffic, which is either a lie or bad business....like come on, it's almost 2020, not 1990...Even Google will tell you which days and times are the busiest at ANY business. If you can get a donut though, it'll be one of the best you've had. They've been in business since the 1950s so they should have enough money to add upgrades (they're not a new business that's more strapped for cash).
Also call before you go if it's after 7am (although sometimes they seem mad that you called to ask if they have donuts left, which is beyond me since their site states all order must be placed by phone... Which is a lie because I never place orders via phone and I've been to all 3...
Read moreWe LOVE Suzy Jo Donuts! It's a great small business that makes simple, delicious donuts. My favorite donut is a chocolate glazed yeasted. They make it so the donut part is soft and pillowy, and they don't skimp on the glaze which is very important to me. The size of the donuts are very reasonable and they taste fresh every single time. My only recommendation is maybe come up with a fun, new unfamiliar flavor every once in a while? For example, matcha is big these days, ube is as well, a dulce de leche donut could be cool, a chocolate blackout donut, or even a donut with tropical flavors. The ladies behind the counter are usually very kind and offer my littles free donut holes when we go...which is really really nice for us parents who need to wrangle the kids all day every day and this just adds a little bit of sunshine to the day. Also, bonus points, it was very nice of the biz to offer donuts at half price when there was a pile of snow on the roads around Fat Tuesday this year. Thanks Suzy...
Read moreDelicious donuts. Apple fritter is HUGE, so share it. Love the hard chocolate icing-frosted cake donut. Jelly donuts with sugar coating are yummy, too. The donuts are made with a dough that has more "body" than the donuts at the national chain shops, so you bite into something substantial, rather than a soft fluffy thing. And they don't skimp on the filling. Get in there early for the best selection--it's a popular place. If you've never been there, DO GO! Patronize these folks to keep a good small business running for another 50 years. This is the kind of donut people will drive miles to get, or for those who've moved away, will pine after and return to when visiting the old...
