Captain Jay's Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Lincoln Park

We just left we the restaurant over on Dix rd in Lincoln Park. And I have to say after dining in. The next time I eat Captain Jays( if I eat here again), it will be getting it and go! First off after placing our order and receiving our drink cups, I was in the mood for some delicious Mountain Dew! So I walk over to their drink fountain. I press to get ice for my. Beverage of choice! And nothing came out! And as the commercial motto says Do the Dew. I wore the dew. Cause I put my cup under the right nozzle, and it shot the tip right off the machine at me. Then I was drenched with watered down soda! I had enough of the soda fountain game and asked if my order can be changed from fountain drinks to 20 oz pops since their machine was WHACK! They said I had to purchase the bottles on top of what I paid for the food! Now let’s get to the food! The first time around their Cole slaw was good. I raved tmabout their Cole slaw when I walked in! My taste buds prepared themselves for GOOD COLE SLAW! I ordered the 2.99 tub of Cole slaw and was let down! You can hear silent cries as my taste buds was crying out WHY US! Now the perch I have to say was on point with the fries and hashbrowns! The Atmosphere was HORRIBLE! I like a good atmosphere where there is music that is tolerable! Instead we get music that was loud and Annoying! I was trying to have a good conversation with my wife. I remember when the chicken sandwich first came out, hadn’t heard of it yet mainstream but I walked in the restaurant, saw it and ordered it and they even added a slice of cheese to the spicy chicken sandwich and it was amazing. Fast forward to maybe close to a year later and I reordered the chicken sandwich. To my surprise I was met with disappointment. Not because of the service, the service was absolutely superb!!! The quality of the chicken sandwiches are completely different and disturbing. At first glance I mistook them for being fish sandwiches. To my surprise they were “fish fried chicken sandwiches.” The chicken was literally battered in fish fry and then fried. Fried Fish batter and Fried Chicken flour and both greases were kept separate in my household when I was growing up. This is a corporations so I understand the grease being shared between the meats but the batter being shared is unacceptable. I posted the difference between what is advertised as the chicken sandwich vs what I received today. Please fry my chicken in flour next time. I give it 5 because it still working the kinks out once they get everything and all there positions filled this is a mesg to the owner or whoever does the putting people in the work positions needs to step up there game plan because your store manager is overwhelmed and does not have enough staff to cover every job that needs to be done so hire more people and your location will definitely be a super success make sure you have enough people to cover every shift and even back up for just incase and your business will thrive and not sure if this location takes bridge card but the other CJs that do are doin very well so word to the wise that should be a...
