Dickey's Barbecue Pit — Restaurant in Lincoln

I have a really hard time giving this place a bad review but this trip was very disappointing. The smell of BBQ is still amazing but it stopped there the staff although nice was less than impressive. First thing was the young man asking if the rack of rib looked cooked to me or not. I stated it did not it was very very pink still I suggested to use a meat thermometer since it wasn’t cooked as long as they normally do. Instead of using that he went ahead and cut a piece of and decided it wasn’t done because of how chewy it was. We then were charged wrong for our meal and the chicken was old very old. The rest tasted pretty good but not what it use to be. It all tasted like it had been sitting in the warmer for a long time. Root beer was out and never was replaced, the lemonade smelled like it had been fermented and tasted absolutely horrible. Overall this was very very disappointing we love Dickey’s and the food and service is usually good but this location seems to have lost its quality and standards. Hope it gets turned around. Oh to really top it all off one young man was wearing flip flops and socks behind the counter never in my life I have seen that at and place that serves...

Labor day at 7pm 2022. Walked into dickeys and the lady at the register yelled welcome while bagging up someone's order. When it was my turn to order the two guys behind the counter and the lady at the register were as kind as they could be. I ordered 1 lb brisket burnt ends, 6 bones and a half lb cheddar sausage. Got to watch them cut it and I could tell that it was going to be good. The lady has worked all day since open and she was still in high spirits. They all were. It was a great atmosphere for them working a holiday. I felt very unburdend by them. A lot of times on holidays staff will have a little attitude like they don't want to be there. Not these three. Very happy when I left, however, the best part was when I got home. Holy BBQ I was blown away! The food taste as good as candy! Every single bite melted like butter and it didn't even need BBQ sauce. Pretty impressed by Dickeys today...enough that I felt compelled to leave this review. I haven't had BBQ that good in a long time. I feel like a king!! Thank you guys for killing it on labor day and now I'm going to sit on the couch for the night happy as can be!!! Till...

It has been awhile since we have eaten at Dickey's, and decided to eat there today since we always had a good experience there. But today was so disappointing. The meat was room temperature and serving size was a lot smaller. The ribs were so tough i couldnt eat them.The roll was very dry. I can say the bbq beans were warm and the coleslaw was cold. The pop machine said out of co2, so giving cans of pop, which i understand this has been going on for awhile now.The bbq squirt bottles were a sticky mess, and the ice cream machine wasn't working. The bathroom toilet paper dispenser was out, the hand soap was empty as was the paper towels. My husband said the men's bathroom had no soap or paper towels and the urinal was very dirty. At this time unless things improve I will not be back. I don't like giving negative reviews, but this time I felt like I needed to. I'm sure if the health inspector would have showed up they would have been closed down.
