Really hate to leave a poor review on here, but there are several reasons why it would be hard to bring myself or anybody I know back. The host staff when we arrived was friendly and gave my friend and I open choices of where we wanted to sit. We decided to grab a table off to the right in the more secluded bar area. Unfortunately, that is also apparently where the servers who are off their shift like to hang out. It didn't bother me too much until I found myself having to listen to their gossip and comics all night while they "chilled" after work in uniform slopped out. I understand having fun and relaxing after your shift, but don't do it where customers can see... or hear. Very unprofessional and I will not share the content that was heard in this review. The service we did have was average but nothing personable or worth coming back for. What really struck me was when I checked my account the next day to see the server intentionally mischarged my card. Luckily I had taken a picture of the receipt I GAVE HIM that evening where the total was very clearly written. He "upped" the bill even after I had already tipped him more than 20%!!!! I contacted the restaurant immediately and the assistant manager said they had this issue already with this employee in the past. I was very shocked they had even given him a second chance as I can only imagine how many people he has done this to that hasn't noticed. The manager I communicated was pleasant and apologetic but that was where it ended. When I managed restaurants in the past, we were ALWAYS trained to not only refund the card for the poor experience, but also to give a gift card to keep their business. I wasn't sure what the reaction would be, but there was no remedy or follow-up to the situation, although I gave them full chance to before writing this review. If it matters, this was my first poor experience there which is why I'm not taking it all the way down to one star. This restaurant does have an opportunity to bounce back after a dishonest employee has really hurt their reputation, but they have some cleaning up to do. My advice: the food is good and to give this place a try, but be cautious...
Read moreI have dined at Ginger twice in the last two weeks. Both experiences left me questioning whether Ginger is even worth trying a third time.
Two days ago I was with a party of eight. Our waiter Ben was very good. He did however, have a potentially fatal flaw. I ordered sushi. I am proactive with my food: I have Celiac, I HAVE to eat gluten free and make waitstaff aware of that, so I wrote on the sushi menu: NO CRAB. NO PANKO. GLUTEN ALLERGY! Well ok then! Ben read that back to me verbatim. I ordered a Sweetheart roll. Nowhere on the menu did it state it would have Panko in it, but I am experienced enough to understand that oftentimes the chef does something the waitstaff knows nothing about...thus my writing on the menu. The Sweetheart roll came full of Panko. Ben had failed to enter that bit of information on the ticket. I spoke with the on-shift manager. She apologized and said she would comp me the Sweetheart roll. Wow. No apology for potentially poisoning me. Then she tried to tell me that another roll I had (with spicy mayo on top) had gluten in the mayo. Really? Two weeks ago I brought my father with me. He's an easy guy to please, but even he was disappointed. He ordered the salmon. The menu stated it came with mashed potatoes. When his dish arrived there was a huge pile of rice where I assumed the potatoes would be. When I asked the waitress why, she said "Oh yeah, we don't have potatoes any more." Um...ok...wouldn't that have been something to say before bringing the dish to the table?
All in all, crappy. Best I can...
Read moreSo incredibly disappointed. Went out to ginger on Saturday for a lovely dinner with my fiancé. Food was great, server was okay she was super nice, and bubbly but didn’t refill our waters or check on us to see if we would like another drink or how our food was. No big deal it was busy and she probably had 2 tables with more than 10 people she was dealing with the same time as us. But the problem began when I checked out account the next day. We were over charged by 30$ we had an 81.50$ ticket and wrote “cash” in the tip section and tipped our server Allexis 24$ in cash. But on our bank statement we were charged 111.50 I’m not sure if it was an honest mistake or someone is pocketing more tips. Have tried to called and phone just rings repeatedly and with no answer, and the answering machine is full so disappointed as this is one of our favorite date night restaurants. Will be going into the restaurant with our receipt and hoping they will correct the mistake so will update with what happens. Ether way customer beware, and make sure you always take a copy of your receipt UPDATE: Finally got ahold of the manager, he was very professional and very apologetic to the situation. We are able to go get the amount we were over charged in cash in person. Satisfied with how they corrected the situation so updating my...
