PepperJax Grill — Restaurant in Lincoln

The worst experience. We went in about 6:45 pm. The place had four couples sitting at different tables, so not terribly busy. The two guys at the grill seemed friendly enough, though after we got our orders it was clear they were more interested in joking around with each other than paying any attention to the customers and what they ordered. I ordered a brisket bowl without incident. My fiance ordered, or tried to order the brisket sandwich, fries and a drink. He ended up with a brisket bowl and a drink. After seeing that the person behind him also had a messed up order and a line was starting to from he decided to just take the bowl. He also specifically asked for no olives on his bowl. Not half a second later the guy behind the counter put olives on it, he did however pick them all off. The girl at the register was efficient but not friendly. We went to pick out a place to sit. Eighteen tables, four were occupied, the other fourteen were dirty and each had trash and/or plates on them. We found one that wasn't terrible and moved the trash to the next table. Seriously, where are the trash cans in this place??? The food was mediocre at best. It was edible but nothing to go back for. As we ate we watched three more groups of people try to find a table that was somewhat decent. One couple asked the girl at the register to clean off a table. She cleaned that table and no more. When we were ready to leave we tried getting a plastic bad to wrap our to go box in. While we were waiting behind another customer we overheard him tell the passing employee that the tea was out. I usually like to go to this location they are usaully very friendly and interact with my babies (1 and 3 year olds) portion are usually pretty good but my experience tonight oh man if I could rate it zero stars I would the people working clearly did not want to be there i ordered a rice bowl and a side of shrimp for my so kids dad ordered a Philly and I got mini corn dog kids meal for my daughter they made my rice bowl and seemed very irritated that I asked for no beans extra rice and apparently they had used the last rice in my bowl and so said I couldn't get extra rice. As the kid is finishing up my bowl he noticed my kids dad was picking up our tray to walk away and he proceeded to lean over and ask the girl if i paid already (which i did) and made me feel like he thought we was trying to steal our food when we was dining in. After my toppings were put on I said did you guys get more rice because I would like more rice and he was MAD!!! My rice bowl with my toppings on it didnt even fill up half of the black to go bowl I felt very cheated i paid 50 dollars for our meal and even tipped them. Thinking oh hey, it's been a while since I've had PepperJax 🌶 grill. I love their rice bowls, and the portion size is enough to make a lunch for tomorrow!

WRONG! I was so disappointed. Not one item of the food made a mess on the lid that's how small of a portion it was. Mind you... this time I ordered DOUBLE MEAT - steak and shrimp (willing to pay the extra) and had 3 of the 5 veggies the cook with it. I saw maybe 4 medium sized shrimp in whole thing. The chunks of lettuce were so big I could have made a side salad from it. I should have taken pictures (as we're known for that) but - it was late and tired. 😔

This was an awful trip for 2 items (a double meat rice bowl, and a steak philly) was $27 with a huge wait before anyone even opened the window.

For what I paid for - there was no lunch, and I had to dig to find the $4 in meat I paid extra for. Thanks for that. 🤷🏼‍♀️
