First off, the people who were working in the morning when we got there and then in the evening after we returned from a football game were excellent! They were super friendly and definitely the best part about the hotel. But for the complaints...
Room: The bed was so hard I could barely sleep, but, some people like that so may not be an issue for some- I just always appreciate a nice cozy comfy bed in a hotel. The pillows were flat and I'm glad I brought mine from home. The blankets were super thin and there were even holes in the ones on our bed, they were practically useless. The TV had horrible reception and just made trying to watch a movie or whatever was on really annoying because it was so grainy, probably because they're still using old school tube tvs in the rooms. The sink leaked all over the counter in the bathroom and there was hair in the bathtub. Toilet had to be flushed at least 2 times every time we used it because it simply would not flush! The coffee in the room was horrible and the coffee pot leaked onto the top of the microwave where it was placed.
Breakfast: Nothing. It was a horrible excuse for breakfast and a waste of time. Not even a bagel.
Checkout: Was at 11am and we requested a bit of a later one since we were going to be out all night. They told me the latest checkout they can offer is 11:15....not helpful. But the person behind the desk was nice about it at least, just would have been nice to have a little extra time.
Overall, I will not stay at another Super 8. I know it's a Super 8 and the chain has a certain reputation of being cheap for a reason; you really do get what you pay for. At least the employees were excellent! But next time I'll suck it up and pay extra for a nicer...
Read moreOverall, not a bad stay. The staff were pleasant to work with, my room and my co-worker's room/bathroom appeared clean and fresh. Which of course makes it nice to feel comfortable enough you're not going to catch something or bring blood sucking creatures home with you! It does seem as if it's been there for awhile so definitely not high end fancy or super modern in its decor but what's decor when you're there to just sleep. Our rooms had a fridge and a microwave which is a plus especially for extended stays. Oh and yes breakfast was served, it was a basic set up but beggars can't be choosers. Plus the Lady on hand to run the breakfast area was totally awesome, sweet/respectful and super quick to get me more milk since the pot was just emptied by the person in front of me. So once with my cereal and cup of coffee I was quite satisfied! Its location has quick highway access allowing you to get to downtown Lincoln in less that 15 minutes which has a mass of things to do. It is close(and I mean across the street close)to good restaurants/fast food joints as well as a walmart(can't beat that haha!)!! My biggest downfall was the fact there was no elevator and it is a 3 story hotel in which I was on the 3rd floor! Not particularly a complaint, yet, if I had more than myself and just a bag to travel up the stairs with I'd be a little on the edge. It can be a little bit of a maze too but signs on the walls were available. I give it a 4 out 5 on the rating mainly because I stayed one night. Like no joke, checked in, ate dinner(went out), showered, slept, ate(hotel served) and checked out. Given my stay though, I would stay again and I would recommend...
Read moreI am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the service I received during my recent check-in at Super 8 by Wyndham Lincoln NE. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by a series of unprofessional and unethical actions, leading to a significant inconvenience and a complete disregard for customer satisfaction.
On 16 June 2023, at approximately 11:15 PM, I arrived at the hotel with a confirmed booking through Expedia. However, upon confirming my name with the agent, I was informed that my booking was not confirmed as the hotel was allegedly fully booked. This was shocking news, considering Expedia had already confirmed my reservation, and it was a prepaid booking.
As a frequent traveler, I believe it is essential for hotels to uphold professionalism and adhere to ethical practices. If the hotel was indeed fully booked, it should have promptly closed the online booking system to prevent any further reservations from being made. Unfortunately, this simple yet crucial step was neglected, resulting in a distressing situation for me and others who encountered similar issues that night.
The fact that this occurred late at night only exacerbates the severity of the matter. It reflects a lack of dedication and seriousness on the part of the agent responsible for managing reservations. Not only was the agent unapologetic, but they also failed to notify either Expedia or myself before we reached the lobby, exacerbating the inconvenience and frustration we...
