Choked up as I type this. Got a call from the son of a client yesterday. His dad was placed in hospice with maybe a week to live. I drove over to see them and, though it was a glorious day, he was too weak to go outside and see the sun. I asked if there was anything he wanted. Like maybe to eat. He thought maybe a steak and then decided, no, salmon. I thought of my favorite fish monger, placed a call, explained the situation. I don't know if he has anything to season the fish and I won't really be able to drive home first, so do you have anything there that you could season it with? When I arrived, they had it all ready. A beautifully seasoned salmon fillet, with extra seasoning in a little plastic cup, some olive oil, and a lemon. And when I went to pay, they told me they had taken care of it.
