Wouldn't come back.
Let's start off with the place itself, which is the best part. Fairly cozy inside and they did pay an artist for some of their photos, but others are just sloppy AI generated sandwiches or stolen photos. The kitchen is open and you can see them make it which is nice, though the TV screen with the menu on it showed a trial version of software. Also it has spelling mistakes and two #26 which are completely different foods.
Onto service, the people are nice enough but clearly not experienced. First I was charged 10% tax, then they said it was a credit card fee (not how that works and I never said I'd use card), then they gave me 0% tax so I'll take it. They also messed up my order (beef and salami became cold salami and Swiss), said it was the same (IT WAS NOT), and then put tomatoes on both subs that specifically said no tomatoes. And then it took 30 minutes for 3 subs, unacceptable.
The most expensive item we got was a roast beef club and frankly it was 3 slices of bread with a meager amount of meat and toppings. The subs themselves are only 8 inches which for over $10 is an absolute travesty. At least one had a lot of meat but the other was minimal and also soggy on one end. There are restaurants giving 18 inch subs for $10 with more meat and higher quality, so this value isn't even much better than Subway, if at all. There are chips available but they're not on the menu, and the drinks aren't priced either. It's really not hard to print a piece of paper with prices.
The two subs we got tasted good, but they had individually wrapped pickles with them. Why are they wrapped outside of the sub? Do they not know how subs work? Also they had tomatoes when we explicitly said no tomatoes. I asked for everything in my salami and Swiss to be hot/toasted and it was only the bread. Mind you, my beef and salami hot sub got switched for the cold salami and Swiss. The cold sloppy sub I also ordered I asked to be toasted, and that one had everything be hot. I don't know what their oven does.
They say they opened in 2023 and frankly they opened on December 2, 2024, so they are fundamentally liars. They also don't seem to know what a sub is because one of them said the club we ordered was a sub, they said the entire menu (like 1/3 clubs) were subs. They need to split up their menu and really figure out what they're doing.
Wouldn't come back, and I'm someone that tries to eat at...
Read moreNewly opened sub shop on wood Avenue. They offer hot and cold options, sub and sandwich style. The shop itself is spacious, with a few drink options and a few chips. I ordered a couple of pastrami sloppy joe sandwiches. The quality of the meat was good. But the price of the sammy didn't match the amount of meat given. I understand the overhead in Linden is high, so i guess it's to be expected.
The staff is friendly, but a little unorganized. One guy prepares the meats while the other waits to add the ingredients. The owner (i believe) was present but didn't appear hands-on (helping) the crowd. The communication of the cashier who takes the order and tells the sandwich maker can improve. Good thing i was there when i placed my order. They are closed Sundays So no subs for football Sunday. They should pickna different day considering there are other Sub shops ooen near-by on Sundays.
I hope they last. I always try local businesses at least once. Im willing to go back and with a better experience give...
