Going to be as fair as possible, so I’ll break down why this was a 3 star review:
Taste - 5 stars Food temperature - 3 stars Food presentation - 4 stars Service - 2 stars Speed - 1 star
My family (4 of us) was the first in the door, and first seated. After all, we had waited on the porch starting around 5-10 minutes before opening. The hostess seated us promptly and was extremely warm and friendly. The second staff member we saw asked for our drink order and then informed us our server was running late for work. We thought it odd, because the place was swarming with staff, so we didn’t think too much of it. But, after our drink orders were in, we realized they weren’t sending a replacement, and we were actually waiting for our server to arrive.
Once our server arrived (to be fair, only about 10-15 mins late) she came to our table to take our order. She was friendly, courteous and got our orders correct. Once our drinks came, the real wait began. We observed table after table eating, paying and leaving. Oddly enough, the second patron in the door (after us) only ate slightly before we did, and long after the first plate was empty elsewhere in the room.
Once our food did arrive (about 45 minutes after we were seated), it was only slightly warm, and my childrens pancakes were room temp. My guess is they sat ready for some time before delivery.
We never saw our waiter for refills or a check-in until she came to ask if we needed the check. Other staffers refilled our drinks once, but that’s once in a total time of an hour.
We got our check and waited another 10 minutes before she came back to collect our debit card. To her credit, she processed that quickly and brought us a to-go container. She’s was friendly the whole time.
What struck us the most was the sheer volume of staff, but lack of service for one hour. Another lady (who looked to be the floor boss) was near our table many times when our cups were empty, and she never said a word. There were a couple of other staff walking aimlessly, and they never looked our way either. And our food wasn’t hot, which meant the wait for it was due to it simply not being picked up and delivered.
This is a new establishment to our area, and we are thankful for it. The flavors were rich, and deep. The atmosphere was really neat and upbeat.
My guess is, this was “new-location-confusion” among the staff. Our hope is, the service will tighten up and the food will be delivered hot as they mature.
Culture is everything in business. The whole idea of “that’s not my job” has to go away. If you see a family sitting there with empty cups, it doesn’t matter that you’re the manager or...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a new breakfast / brunch option in West Little Rock, then give Big Bad Breakfast a try. It’s a small kitchen-style restaurant with usually a long line to get in - especially on the weekends.
The food is good, (hard to mess up breakfast, right?) however I wouldn’t say it’s the best option available in town. It’s just a DIFFERENT option - and that can be good, depending upon what cravings you have on any given day. They serve breakfast / brunch daily from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Yes, they serve mimosas.
As of this writing, the best time to go is a weekday morning during the 8:00 a.m. hour. Many folks are stopping in before work at 7:00 and getting out by 8:00, so if you can, avoid the rush. On weekends - well, plan to wait. Everyone in town is trying out this new establishment.
The atmosphere is clean and, except for the bar, has a kitchen feel to it. Hopefully the owners will expand the dining area into the space next door when David’s Burgers moves across the street. There is a small patio with one overhead fan. Should be enjoyable come fall.
Parking can be an absolute nightmare. Originally a bank, this space was designed for drive-through traffic and accommodating mass gatherings of SUVs is not easily accomplished. Additionally, while David’s Burgers is still open in the same building, they too drive a lot of traffic into the parking lot. I have seen some folks park in the shopping center lot across the street, but this is not advisable because Bowman Road at West Markham Street is very busy!
Overall, it’s a pleasant dining experience in a space well decorated. Would love an opportunity to patronize the original restaurant in Mississippi for comparison, but this location seems to do a good job.
The staff is friendly and accommodating. Prices are reasonable. Service is pretty quick because they are moving a lot of people in / out on a constant basis. Try the bacon. You won’t be...

Please try Toasted Yolk and don’t waste your hard earned money at this establishment. You come to reviews to understand if a place is worth your time and money. BBB is not.
0 out of 10, I would NOT recommend!
This new breakfast spot, centrally located right off Bowman has been open for a few months and my family of three decided to give BBB a try. Firstly, they are limited on their hours so they are usually busy. The first problem is the initial vibe of it all. We felt like they did not portray any care about us. After a 30 minute wait we were sat and received drinks shortly after. Within 10 minutes we ordered hour food.
This is where things start to take a turn.
An entire hour passed by. To the minute. We watched as other tables were cleared, new customers came in, they sat, received their food, all the while we still waited. We inquired with our server during, to which he responded he was not sure what happened. Once that hour mark hit we finally decided to just leave. We asked for the check for our drinks and management. Management came and did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. Not one thing. She was not sympathetic at all. This further infuriated us. We felt like we’d been made a complete mockery of. My family paid nearly $15 for drinks and left. We will never step foot in another BBB ever again and we urge anyone considering to visit to reconsider. Little Rock has so much to offer, do not settle for this...
