As a first-time visitor, I was disappointed. Our server was not friendly and made us feel rushed and unwelcome. I don’t recall feeling so unwelcome in any restaurant as I did at the West Little Rock location. Plus, we were there around 3:00 P.M. and it wasn't busy, so I really expected a better experience. The food was okay but nothing to brag about. - The steak quesadilla was bland. - The shrimp quesadilla was delicious. - Guacamole Mexicano was delicious, but our server seemed disgruntled about making it for us. Just horrible service. - Menu says Modelo Especial is on draft, but our server said only bottles for some reason. And he forgot my second beer until I reminded him. - As we left, the host did not say "Thank you and come again" or anything else for that matter. - One positive, the salt and pepper shakers were clean which is highly unusual in any Little Rock restaurant, so kudos for that. I will never come back here again! Because of the server, our entire experience was unpleasant.

El Porton's chicken soup (see the photo below) is one of the best bowls of soup available at any Little Rock restaurant, and at $8.99 for a big bowl of soup, it's a bargain. It contains lots of tender chicken, rice, pico de gallo, slices of avocado, and a good bit of chopped cilantro. Well-made soups are increasingly hard to find in a lot of local restaurants. It's too easy to throw together some mix of fat, salt, and thickening, flavor it with this or that, and call that a bowl of soup. Making a good broth or stock takes time and skill, after all. El Porton's chicken soup is the real deal. A bowl of it is so large that, unless you have an enormous appetite, you'll end up sharing it with your table companion. Other items on the menu are tasty, too, from the street tacos to the piquant salsa. But it's the chicken soup I return to El Porton for, over and over. It's the best to be found in this area.

Muy sabroso! Delicious Tex-mex! TL:DR A bit more authentic than your normal tex-mex, delicious and filling, and very affordable! Also... a robot helps deliver your food! Details: Came on a weeknight, and the place was moderately full. We were seated quickly, and the waitstaff was friendly and helpful. Salsa was very good, and their queso was nice and thick. I had the Pollo Chipotle, and it was... AMAZING! The cheesy Chipotle sauce was so savory, and the chicken was perfect. Please take my word for it and try immediately! I did not try any desserts, so I can't speak to that, but everything else here makes it worth going more than once! Oh, and a robot brings your plates to your table, then the waitress/waiter distributes it for you. Kind of fun, especially for the young ones!

I wasn't going to write a review but since the manager just told me he wasn't there yesterday when I called like I cared if he was there or not, he's a manager so why not listen to what I have to say. First thing that was wrong; I had chicken fijita nachos that had a mix of shrimp in it, I don't like shrimp, thank God I’m not allergic to shrimp. Then I left my iPhone max in the bathroom and we left the restaurant. We were at a store down from the restaurant when I figured out I left my phone. We went back and a few men were at the front. I asked if anyone had turned in a phone. They said no so I looked in the bathroom where I left it, it was not in there. I asked a female worker about it and she went to look in front of restaurant where the men were and she asked it they had seen the phone and again they say no. The female then said ”what ab,” I knew she was looking at my phone so why didn’t she finish her sentence. I asked my friend to call it and then she picked it up. I feel they were going to keep phone which is CRIMINAL to me. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. The food was not bad but could be better. I said it had shrimp in it and was supposed to be chicken and the cheese was too thick. OUR waiter was good, he was the only good thing about the restaurant. You get 2...

Went in to order what I always order. At the age of 34 I've never been told how much I could, or could not drink. As a GROWN MAN, I alone can make the decision for myself. Every time I've been here its never been a problem. Now all of a sudden, the staff/Management wants to play the parental role? I will not return to this establishment any longer. After 7 years of spending anywhere from $40-$60 per visit and tips, NO MAS! Even the staff that knows me by face looked befuddled with the ordeal. If you want to go somewhere that the staff feels they have ruling over your life, COME ON DOWN TO EL PORTON. If you are a hard working American, GO TO LA VILLA!! Much better environment, and they will let you make your own ADULT DECISIONS. I hope this helps anyone. To the select employees, thank you for your years of service. To the new employeees/Management, DO BETTER!!! I also encourage all of my friends that used to go for Don Pollo, or the Sky Surf & Turf with me on a weekly basis to start meeting me at LA VILLA off alexander rd for the VILLA RICE. I did not expect this treatment from an establishment, but since we are here... The portions at EL PORTON have been DRASTICALLY REDUCED, and they are...

Racism I call it… For the last two weeks I have visit this location for lunch. Both time my friend and I have been abruptly mistreated. I can understand people or a person may be having a bad day and sometimes it shows in their day work. However, today it happened again; it’s not a mistake, these people in this El Porton location (of Little Rock) are definitely being racist. I advise anyone who like to feel welcome and treated fairly will stay away from this company and find somewhere else to eat. Let this place never be a thought to eat at.

From carding (ID) my African America friend and I to serving me half cooked spaghetti to the abrupt behavior is enough for me to say f you. And if I’m not mistaken we haven’t place no order for drinks yet. However, the Manager of this location felt to card only us two brown women and no one else. This Manager had the audacity to get mad when we said we come here all the time and no one carded us before. You can tell we are adults.

Anyway, let our experience resonate within you. Let these people actions of treatment toward us speak for you. Or go and have your own experience.

May the true God of all creation...
