Unbelievably rude. We will never put our foot in that restaurant again. It had been a long time since we were at Cheers and decided to stop in for a snack/lunch midweek in early afternoon. There were, at most two tables of diners. Our waiter approached to ask what we wanted and I asked for a menu. He "pointed" to a QR code on the table and said that was it. I told him I could not do that and needed a menu. He basically turned around, shrugged and walked off. We were so taken aback by his rudeness that we did not know what to do. I told my husband we were leaving because there was no excuse for that attitude. In retrospect I thought there were any number of ways he could have assisted us were there no menu available. He could have shown us a menu on his phone or even pulled up the website for the restaurant. He was more interested in showing disdain for our lack of tech/phone skill than in assisting us. Did I say the restaurant was not busy! I have been going to Cheers longer than that young man has been on this earth. Totally uncalled for to treat your "older" customers in such a way. We were only stopping in for lunch, not a lesson on downloading and using QR codes. Never again. And, interesting that there was an extensive blackboard menu detailing alcohol choices. If they do not wish to print a menu perhaps they could put food choices on the blackboard. Very bad experience and totally...
Read moreWe attempted to eat at Cheers for lunch on a Saturday. I say “attempted” because we were treated with such rudeness that we left before ordering. When we arrived it was moderately busy. We were told to sit anywhere and someone would be right with us. A good 10-15 minutes of being ignored by the 4 servers who had a total of 10 tables between them, no water, no menus, one of them finally deigned to acknowledge our presence and ask whether we had been helped. At this point I was annoyed by the poor service and said “no, not at all.” This apparently gave the server the impression that she could be even more rude by rolling her eyes, tossing the menus on the table and slamming down the water bottle in front of us. We left immediately since I didn’t care to have someone spit in my food as that was the level of maturity we were dealing with. This was unfortunate because I ate here for dinner and enjoyed it. But it’s more unfortunate for Cheers as my husband is in sales and was looking for a new restaurant to take his clients. Not only has Cheers lost our business, but that of our clients as well. Treat your...
Read moreThis was my first experience with Cheers in the Heights. It's a quaint little place nestled between shops and some residential in what used to be a barber shop. Dropped by for a pick up order. Its was balls to the wall busy with people lined up in front of me. Its close quarters but not cramped, If you have personal space issues, you may be more comfortable outside on the patio, which depending on the season, is enclosed to prevent frostbitten appendages. The waitstaff were friendly and quick to greet me and find out what I needed. Picked up my Chicken and dumpling soup and made my way back to work to finish my day. Now, my palate is not the most refined, and I couldn't tell you the difference between cilantro and parsley, but this soup is a freaking Mardi Gras in my face hole! To the point I wanted to take my shirt off and dance in the street! (I didn't. It's cold and I don't want want to explain to local authorities what a maori haka is. GOOGLE IT) I'll definitely be back to sample some of their other offerings and see if I can keep my clothes on Figuratively speaking of...
