4-21-16@ 11am Where do I start from the first call I made this morning at 10 to see if they can do a order for a office party, that had about 12 individual orders that will be paid for individually. Only for the guy that answered the phone seem to be to busy to listen to my request and screamed off the fax number 3x before I understood what he was saying and then hung up after saying it. I should have known then to ask everyone to order from somewhere else. So I faxed the order over anyway and called back to make sure they got the order like he requested and another guy answered the phone and he was the same way. Didn't want to be bothered and he said "yeah we got it pick it up in the drive thru"...which was weird to me because it's a big order and we are paying as individuals. So we get there and went in and the young lady said go through the drive thru and the will take your money there and load the order in your car, we went on to explain to her we will be paying separately, she look confused and she left to go in the back and she come back and say go through the drive thru. So we did. Now we are in the drive thru and the girl gives us this big price and we said we told you all the orders are separate, and she say " oh my god ugh they didn't say that and its not on y'all fax...and we said we told the guy that answered the phone and the young lady at the front the same thing. She was irritated and it took forever for her to separate the order in the drive thru ...while cars are behind us..and to top it off we get back to work to realize a sandwich is missing and we call back and the insisted that it was in the bag and we explained to them we will not call back for a sandwich that was not in there, to have to travel all the way back to get, because one co-worker paid and didn't have anything to eat, and they had the nerve to call back to argue that we didn't look in the bag good enough...shaking my head at the nonsense...so we ending going back to get the sandwich and it wasn't ready and he had the nerve to throw in some banana pudding that no one eats...we will not order from this awful place again.. 3 people had fish dinners, that was suppose to be fillets and they were nuggets..not worth the money or time and disrespect. Beware of...
Read moreDecent place to eat. Fair prices for a BBQ establishment. We had to wait in a fairly empty restaurant to be seated and they seemed a bit understaffed. However, to be completely fair, we went on a Thursday evening at dinner time. The service was amazing once seated but food was adequate and nothing was really all that impressive.
For starters, my wife ordered the fried pickles and they brought us a basket of rolls. The rolls, while a bit doughy and greasy, were actually quite tasty. The pickles were fine. Not my cup of tea but the family seemed to enjoy them.
My wife's ribs were nice and tender but lacked any major smoky flavor. She seemed to enjoy them but was not impressed by her small sides and even less impressed with the quality of her mac n cheese.
My meat sampler was stacked but, again, the meat itself was just adequate. I didn't really feel like I was eating at a 4.2 star rated BBQ joint as none of the BBQ was very smoky or flavorful. It was just kind of average, if that makes sense. I personally did not enjoy the brisket as it was VERY heavily pepper rubbed to the point I couldn't even taste the brisket. The pork was fine, again. More smoke, please. I do want to praise the sausage, though, as it was excellent. As for my sides, they were fine. The fried okra was nice and crunchy but the green beans had a metallic canned taste to them that I did not enjoy.
My oldest ordered the baked potato which he said was fine, albeit a bit more cheesy than we normally get on BBQ baked taters. He had no issue gobbling up his leftovers so take that for what you will.
My youngest ordered the turkey wrap but wasn't impressed by the vegetables. They were either heated with the wrap or left out at room temperature so she wasn't able to enjoy the wrap until the next day. Her fries were excellent. Very flavorful and crispy.
All-in-all a reasonable experience. Had the meat lived up to the hype and the brisket actually tasted like something other than black pepper I would rate 4 stars. Unfortunately, based on this experience, Corky's falls just a bit short of that mark for me. I wouldn't spend $110 there again but I would definitely stop in again for a pork sandwich or some of those...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would! Drove from Pine Bluff to Little Rock in search of great BBQ since we had been hearing good things about Corky’s, but ended up highly disappointed. To start with the server spilled my husband’s drink all over the table (mistakes happen, so no big deal), but the drink wasn’t replaced with a filled one. The bread they brought out was soggy, doughy, and soaked in grease or butter. Again, no big deal, it’s just bread. We each ordered the choose 2 combo platter with pulled pork, beef brisket, baked beans, and potato salad. The service was super fast! Great! We were expecting pulled brisket, not sliced, but that was our mistake for not asking. The meats were very bland, greasy, and fatty! I got a large chunk of bone in my pulled pork! My meats were very cold. When I informed the waiter he had me keep my beans and took my plate to “fix” it. He took it and microwaved it for maybe 30 seconds and brought it back. The pulled pork was warmer on the outsides but still cold underneath. And my potato salad ended up warm! At this point they obviously couldn’t fix it so I wasn’t sending it back again. We don’t like causing a scene, but my husband asked to speak to the manager. He informed the manager that the food was cold, bland, and frankly gross. We had each barely eaten anything on our plates and were feeling sick from it (picture shown is what was left of the food). The manager agreed to discount the food. He gave a $6.80 discount, the bill ended up $38, for something we couldn’t even eat! When my husband went to pay he walked up on the waiter telling the manager that we “seemed sketchy”. Because my husband refuses to send food back after a previous bad experience in a restaurant, and I feel that if it can’t be corrected the first time it’s brought up then it won’t be corrected at all and there’s no point arguing. We paid our bill and left. Made it maybe 5 miles and had to pull over so I could get sick. Summary: bad food and rude waiter! I would NOT recommend...
