My son wanted to try Gozen Japan House on Bowman for a while. So today, Thursday, August 21, 2025 around 11 a.m. after his doctor appointment, I decided to treat him. The young Asian lady that was a the cash register CHARGED ME TWICE ON TWO DIFFERENT CARDS!!😡😡😡 She kept insisting that her tablet showed an error. Fortunately, I decided to check BOTH of my accounts while I was still there. When I confronted her about the double charge, she pretended not to understand. I pulled out both of my cards and showed her my account on my phone, clearly pointing out that I had been charged twice and that I wanted a refund for one of the transactions. Then she said, “oh, you want a refund”. I said, “Yes, and a receipt”. She gave me a refund in CASH and on the receipt she put that I paid in CASH, even though I paid with my Cards (BIG RED FLAG🚩)! The FOOD was SO DISGUSTING. The rice and the noodles had a wired tasted and she tried to still from me and make me pay for it twice!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡 It felt like she was trying to scam me by charging me twice for the meal. 😡😡😡😡 I'm really FURIOUS about the entire experience!!! Read moreI have been here twice. The first time, I enjoyed their ramen so I came back later again with my coworkers. At the time, I used my apple pay to pay and their server froze. The server asked me to run my card again despite the fact that my apply pay already went through. So I did insert my physical card and they charged me again, I even left a tip thinking the other payment probably didn’t go through. Working at a restaurant, I know card transactions could be pain. So I waited until my payment is posted. A few days later, my payment was posted and I was charged twice even including the tip. So I came back to the restaurant, asking for a refund for the extra payment. I was unable to get a refund and was told to wait 2 to 4 weeks. It’s totally outrageous!! I had my receipt and everything to prove my purchase and the server didn’t even make an effort to help me. Believe me, I used to work at a restaurant and was very empathetic about the situation. But the server was entirely unhelpful, I asked for the manager and she said she can’t get them. I mean what kind of business are they running without even a manager? Beware of this place! They will not have my business again. So disappointed, I was over the moon thinking good ramen place opened nearby. 😭

So please watch what they charge you for food before tax.. the first time I noticed it. I asked the cashier lady why was I being charged more than the actual menu price.. she said it was because I was using debit/credit card. Ok cool I went with that.. the next time I come in like a week later. I order, I told her I am using cash instead of card and she still charges me more than the actual menu price and tells me I’m being charged more because the menu prices are old, umm lady I was just here a week ago and you told me something totally different . Reminder you just told me last week it was because I use debit/ credit card. Reminder your online menu, paper menu and menu board in your facility all have the same prices and she still found a reason to charge me more even when using cash.. I next told her the menu price needs to be honored and she would not. So it clearly shows they are finding ways to milk extra out their customers hoping it won’t be realized.
