I was hoping this place would be different from their competitors but when I saw the Speedy Gonzalez on the menu I knew pretty much what to expect. I will say that even though they have many of the exact same dishes as other Mexican restaurants they do offer some unique items and quite a few seafood options. I went with the Ranchero Mamalon, which other spots have but may call it something different. It was decent but nothing special. The restaurant looks has a nice interior and plenty of TV's for viewing sports. But there were some problems. The waitress, who definitely seemed like she had never worked in a restaurant before, barely spoke or understood English. I asked for the cheese sauce that is usually drizzled over the Ranchero Mamalon to not be drizzled and be served on the side. I do this because sometimes restaurants will put too much queso and ruin the dish. She had to ask another server for help in explaining this simple request. Then I asked for a small guacamole dip since the salsa they provide was a bit too spicy for my taste. I even pointed to it on the menu. Again she required help in understanding me. Now I'm not saying she needs to be completely fluent but a basic level of comprehension would help. I also had to request the check since she had cleared the table and I had refused any more drink refills and she still hadn't brought the check. IMO she should be shadowing a more experienced server for a while until she's better prepared. When she brought the teeny tiny portion of guac I asked "is that 6 bucks??" and she just shrugged her shoulders and said "sorry". I thought to myself ok, I'll just let this situation play out and see what happens. When the bill came I noticed they didn't charge me for a small guac dip, they charged for a side of guac ($3, actually a tad more because of the credit card fee). I'm thankful it wasn't $6 but I still think $3 is too much for maybe 2 tablespoons of guac. Hopefully this place works out the kinks but honestly I probably won't return cuz I don't like dropping over $30 for...
Read moreMy wife and I went here last night for the first time. We immediately loved the interior. We sat at the spacious bar. The atmosphere started off nice we were enjoying conversations with other patrons while having drinks. Later around 8:30 we decided to order food to go. While we were waiting all the sudden the DJ starts mic checking and then started playing music and videos so loud that nobody could carry on a conversation. I guess what I’m getting at is if you want to go and enjoy the company you’re with and the food get there and get out before they start playing music. I don’t know anyone that wants to go eat and not be able to hear the people they’re with. Don’t get me wrong the food was really amazing but I’m glad I took it home to eat. For this reason alone sadly that will probably be our last time we go in there. I really wouldn’t be surprised if they stay open more than a year unless they...
Read moreThe customer service AND the food here is HORRIBLE. The waitress never smiled. She was rude, and tried to rush us to order even though we told her that it was our first time in, and that we wanted to look over the menu. She didnt write my order down and then came back later claiming to have forgotten it, even though she asked me four times what my order was. The salsa was overly spicy and the cheese dip was bland. When the steak came to the table, it was not seasoned at all. It was hot but bland as well. When this was brought to the waitresses attention, she stood there with a look of disgust on her face and said nothing. When asked if the steak could be replaced with something else, she frowned and just stood there for a moment before snatching the plate away as if she was angry. The environment was not welcoming and the food is horrible. I advise ANYONE to NOT...
