We saw this place driving by and decided to eat before we went shopping. The prices are not listed on the menu board there are no menus or prices at the seat yourself tables. It took 20 minutes for them to refill the Dr. PEPPER syrup because it was empty. And after that we got our food. I ordered a patty melt with fries that arrived with chips. The burger was dry and very overcooked beyond normal done. The cheese covered just the middle of one side and the grilled onions were about 4 pieces. When my fries came 2 minutes later (now they are fast?) They were luke warm and dark brown with several hard bits. There were 3 occupied rabies by this time. 1 when we arrived. The other person with me got the burger and fry basket special. Total without tip was 28$ I asked for a receipt to see how much the food costed individually and was given one but as I was walking out I saw it was not itemized. Just rang as 28$. We will never go there again. Suggest asking the prices upfront for anyone who does. I wasn't concerned with price and if the food had been reasonably good I wouldn't be...

The Burgers are awesome, the service is questionable. I ordered 2 burger baskets with onion rings instead of fries I was told ok and my order was placed. I ate my food and again the cheese burgers were awesome as were the onion rings. However, when I went to pay the older grey haired woman at the register rang everything up separately (added about 5 dollars to my bill) I explained that I ordered 2 cheese burger baskets and she then informed me that you can't get onion rings on the basket. Now I understand the onion rings are .25 cents more than the fries and expected to pay more but not 5 dollars. I told her I should have been informed when i ordered that what I ordered was not an option. She replied "no you need to tell her not me" speaking of the waitress who took our orders. "I'm not the one who took your order I just rang it up and you can't get onion rings on a burger basket" I just paid and left, but it sure did leave a nasty taste in my mouth. Not sure if I'll...

Think dive bar, greasy food, and everyone is welcome... This place is pretty great and I suspect will be staple of downtown Little Rock for years to come. The atmosphere is casual, but you could encounter a banker from down the street sitting at a table beside a construction crew and another table with state representatives and staff. We all come for the food, which I cannot begin to say enough about. The burgers are their mainstay, but the menu is appealing to a variety of tastes. The staff treats you like you're a regular, and they're fast. This place is great when you want to get out for lunch, but don't have a ton of time to spend away from the office or jobsite.

5 years ago I saw a member of the wait staff apply lotion to her foot while propping herself on the prep station with the hand not lathering her hoof. So yeah... It's authentically a dive with delicious food. *I have observed no such egregious disregards for food...

Had been meaning to try this spot for a while but I was not only disappointed, but frustrated at my purchase. I ate this burger less than 3 minutes after being handed it and I was confused as to why the patty had no warmth after it coming off right off the grill. The toppings were ice cold and the laughably large-cut tomato had overtaken the smaller sized patty. I was charged for jalepenos but received none & didn’t get a ketchup sub as requested. In its correct & best form, the $8 burger would have been “decent” at best and was a small one. I review honestly to bring Little Rock the best options when it comes to food. And “The Box” is a place that needs a serious change in management or to go ahead and die off so a better establishment can take the address.

Is this the best burger in Little Rock? Depends on what kind of burger you are after. Craving a greasy flatop burger served in an unpretentious and historic dive? Then this is one of the best in town. If you are after more of a gourmet burger then Big Orange or the Pimento Cheese Burger at the Capital Grill would be better choices. The box has a very blue collar vibe, yet attracts just about every walk of life at lunch time. This is great place for a relaxing lunch and you can't go wrong between the fries or homemade onion rings.

Food is pretty good, fairly greasy though. Really laid-back. The people around the counter are really cool. The wait staff around the tables not so great. Place isn't kept real clean. It is sanitary enough if you don't place your hands on the tables or counters. I would really rate higher if not for the wait staff and the unclean tables & counters.
