What can i say! I've been to Pantry Crest (they have two locations one in Hillcrest and one in West Little Rock) twice now and the experiences have been incredible.
It's located on a neighborhood street just adjacent to Kroger in Hillcrest. Parking was easy both time. They have a little parking lot in front but plenty of street parking options as well. Upon arriving, i was greeted by smiling and friendly host/hostess staff that quickly seated us. My first time was for lunch and second visit was for dinner. The server introduced themselves and handed us a cocktail menu and beer/wine list which were both EXTENSIVE. Great selections for numerous tastes. Cant remember the cocktail i ordered but it was some variation of a Paper Plane.
We then ordered some appetizers. The brussel sprouts and cheese spaetzel were out of this world! Great flavor and cooked just right.
We ordered the Fish and Chips (always an excellent choice) and the lasagna...MY GOD! The best lasagna i have had. No lie.
Then the server brings out the dessert menu. Now, I've heard about this cheesecake and decided to have my go at it. If i told you that this was the best cheesecake i have ever had in my life, you might think i was exaggerating a bit. Go try it for yourself then come talk to me. The softness of the cake with the toasted top had a perfect crunch and the crust was excellent.
All in all, amazing service, amazing food. 10/10 Perfect place to bring out of town guests to as well. Cant wait for...
Read moreLet me set the scene, A nice brisk winter night my wife and I travel an hour, to one of our favorite restaurants in Arkansas, to enjoy dinner for our second anniversary. A lovely hostess brought us to a table where we were met by our even more lovely server, Riley. Being The name of a coworkers recent ex, we were skeptical. However, that skepticism did not last long. She was attentive and always there when we needed her. The ability to feel free to make dumb dad jokes and show pictures of our last anniversary mixed with the Low lighting and fine decor, we felt the best part of the season. I ritualistically gets the rustic bowl, which did not disappoint. A delicately cooked salmon on a sweet potato purée and broccolini. How good it was, something I could not dream up. A smile on my face when my wife could not finish her New York strip that never fails. Another good indicator to me for a restaurant is when they can handle their gin better than I can. Whatever a golden Prague is I had three. last but not least you cannot leave the Pantry Crest without enjoying a brûlée’d cheesecake that I’m sure is award-winning and deserves it. Thank you for being the last page of our second wonderful...
Read moreVisited for a date night one Friday night. The parking lot is tiny, so be prepared to drive around to find street parking on the adjoining streets.
The restaurant is set in a converted house which adds to the eclectic charm of the interior, but also has some draw backs. Mainly the place gets really loud since there is no real zoning or sound proofing. Second the staircase that leads to the upstairs loft is only wide enough for traffic going one way. Thus if sitting upstairs you will invariably end up waiting for other patrons or servers to go up and down the steps.
We started with cocktails and bacon wrapped figs. The cocktails were OK, but definitely not the best in town. The bacon wrapped figs were amazing.
The menu is a mix of European and American with an emphasis on elevated comfort food. We tried a spinach and smocked salmon flatbread and a daily special bowl with couscous, trout, and red sauce. Both were great and the portions size was enough for us both to have leftovers.
Service was excellent and the ambience of the restaurant is intimate with whimsy. All in all a great place for a date night or to meet...
