Il Forno Restaurant & Catering — Restaurant in Littleton

Funny story. I went to Il Forno two or three weeks ago with my girlfriend and her parents for dinner. We ate in the bar at a hightop. We ordered pizza and wings along with drinks like normal. All four of us love the chicken wings here and I still stand by saying they might be the best ones in town. Here’s were it all went wrong. My girlfriend and I went back to Il Forno with some other family members where we sat at a hightop in the bar and ordered wings and beers like we did before. The wings came out and the four of us looked at them and said to each other, we should’ve got two orders. we remembered the menu says 12 for $12. So when the Bartender returned I ask if there was a mixup in the amount of wings. He kindly told us he would check with the Kitchen right away. I’m not sure if it was the manager but a woman came from the back and headed over to our table to tell us what had happened. She said there’s a simple mixup. The wings only come in an eight piece. they don’t do the 12 piece anymore because Of the price of chicken these days. I told the woman that the other week when we were in we got 12 wings for $12 and now we only have eight wings. So my question is is it eight wings for eight dollars or eight wings for $12? The woman responds a little flustered but comely says it’s 8 wings for $12. So I point out the obvious and say, but MENU says 12 for $12. She responds with, “Well the price of menus are expensive.” I then asked if there was anything else on the menu that is miss labeled and she looked insulted. Greeted at the door by very friendly owner and staff. My husband and I chatted about how it was our first time since ownership changed. The previous restaurants that had been here left a lot to be desired. The renovations and decor were lovely. We sat out on the patio and were brought complimentarily apps as it was our first time. Pepper poppers and fried Mac and cheese. The food at this restaurant is too good to be offering such pub food apps. Excellent drink menu. I had the haddock and my husband had the short ribs. I was blown away by the flavor! The combinations of ingredients was perfect, no flavor overwhelming the other. The pasta was delicious and authentic. The salad was fresh.The asparagus was overcooked but I suspect it got limp from being in a gravy. The service was excellent, however, I was there to spend time on a date with husband and the waitress chatted us up a great deal taking time away from us. She was very nice and we were there during a slow time and I realize she was trying to give us great service, however, less would have been more in this case. The lunch was expensive but I've noticed on the rare times we go out it's getting more expensive everywhere. I would definitely go back during their Tuesday night $49/2 special or for lunch special, otherwise too much money for us in retirement. The menu was extensive, something for everyone. I look forward to returning and trying more of their authentic Italian food. The food, staff, atmosphere here is excellent. Last year when wedding planning , my now husband and I started looking for Italian restaurants that provide catering in the littleton/westford area. We stumbled upon ilforno online and after looking at not only their dine in menu , but their catering as well , decided to go in and try some food to see if they would be a good fit.

The food is delicious , the atmosphere is clean and serene , and the service is always great ! We decided to choose them to cater our big day. We have been in a few times just to enjoy a delicious meal in the mean time and they never disappoint . Izzy has been our server a few times and she is great ! I am a server too and appreciate when I have a great experience all around at a restaurant.

At our wedding, the food was delivered to the Kaleva Lodge in Littleton, (awesome place too !)to my helpers right on time and the guests loved everything . Many people went in for seconds and there was good portions of everything ! We even had a full pan of chicken parm left over to give to our helpers to take home with them. We have had so many of our guests say how delicious the food was , even some of our notorious picky eaters were happy. Many of my friends said they are still thinking about the chicken Franches! Can't wait to bring them in sometime soon. Thank you Ilforno !
