I’ve never been here before and I love Mexican, can’t you tell? So had to pop in for a visit. I was happy to see Mojitos on the list of drinks- so I ordered one, virgin- no rum, it was really good. The salsa was a little strange, had big chunks of onions & tomato, but kinda… plain? I don’t know- it was not terrible, but nothing exciting. Edible salsa. Now the queso was another world. Thick, creamy, good flavor. The chips were good. I have been on this burrito bowl kick lately, so I ordered a veggie bowl, hold the peppers and mushrooms and add black beans. My best friend ordered Chile relleno and enchiladas with beans and rice. My bowl was good. Looked fresh, pretty and I was excited, but it lacked seasoning. Rice kinda bland, beans bland. Speaking of beans they brought me a huge side of the black beans for $3.50 instead of putting them in the bowl, which confused me, but it was fine, so I just boxed up the rest for a later snack. I liked the bowl, lots of veggies but I feel like it needed some cayenne or hot sauce or something. My friend loved the poblanos and said the enchiladas were good. Rice bland. Margaritas, I didn’t try them, but friend says house margarita was 100% great and the $16 higher shelf Don Julio was maybe not worth the extra $ without Grand Mariner? I feel like margaritas are fine at bottom shelf price, all tequila gives you a headache… the most important part is good sour mix and at Fuego Aztecs they make their own… so enjoy!

We are so glad we tried this place out! Everything was spot on! Two words to sum this place up- FRESH & QUALITY. The service was really good; our server was knowledgeable about the food, restaurant, and drink selections. She recommended both the table-side guacamole and queso dip- both of which we ordered. The table-side guacamole was as prepared fresh in front of us and was delicious! The queso dip came out in a large dish and was creamy and thick- the best I’ve ever had. The salsa was chunky and vibrant. When we complimented the server on how’s it tasted, she said they make it fresh every 2 hours. The restaurant has a variety of fresh margaritas made with freshly squeezed juices- not that fake sweet and sour mix. We were a big fan of the margaritas and their quality. For our main meal, we got the fajita mix with steak, chicken, and shrimp. It was so good! The chicken and shrimp were juicy and not dried out. They also offer flour and/or corn tortillas. Everything came out quickly and at the right pace. This place will be our go-to. It was on the cooler side when we went, but they also had a nice big covered patio area outside with a bar. We are looking forward to having lunch out there when it warms up a bit:

The place needs a lot of adjustments and hopefully will in good time. Location is great and plenty of parking. Outside bar and tables look O.K. Inside is not comfortable at all. The walls have metal skirting which just exacerbates the noise from conversation, tinny sound of chairs moving, (the chairs are a metal and not made for comfort)......... Servers were so good, polite and apologetic.... the kitchen cannot get the food out in timely manner.....when received food portions were small (see beans and lettuce in picture with just a dab of guacamole on top ) and the Chimichanga filling was extremely over salted.....salsa was obviously watered down.....they only served lunch menu ........the overbearing tinny sound even had a small child holding their ears........think they need some sound absorbing material . It took an hour just to get our order served. Very disappointed ....hope in time it will improve because they have an opportunity to be a good restaurant. Will give it another try in a few months to see if improved.

Update 3 - I regret that this place won't be a regular for us. When the cost of two bottom shelf margaritas doubles your meal cost, we will continue to make their competition ($6 drink specials daily... and better pours)a weekly stop, and save this for only occasional visit. I don't understand the thinking. These are literally the most expensive drinks in a tiny little town. Update 2 - I failed to read my own review and ordered a house margarita again. Four bits short of a tenner, and not very good. Not gonna order booze at those prices. You are missing out. Do them 2 for 1, or $6 (like most of your competitors) each and you will sell a lot more. First UPDATE: This place was formerly Armando's, but is now under new management. The sign hasn't been changed yet. The menu is all new and we've enjoyed 2 excellent meals since the changeover. The menus call it "Fuega Azteca", so I assume a sign will go up soon. The staff is friendly and hustling, and it's nice to see it filling up once again. Today at lunch my meal took a little longer that I would have expected, but it came out hot and fresh. My only disappointment was realizing I was charged $9 for a house margarita. Two for one perhaps would make that better, but the server said that wasn't available. END UPDATE: It has been a little while since we stopped in, and saw nothing but improvements. The menu was refreshed with lots of new items (particularly Cuban specialties), but most of our old favorites were still there. We are outside today, and it was delightful. Service was spot on, and her Cuban sandwich, and my lunch fajitas were exceptional. Even in these inflationary times, prices are still...

This was our first time visiting since the new name/restaurant change and we WON’T be back! My group of 3 went in today for lunch at 12:15pm. There was approximately 5 other tables of people when we arrived and most we already eating. Drink order and chips came out quickly but then we sat and sat and sat with nobody checking on us for more than 25 minutes. Finally, a waitress came and wrote our orders: cheese quesadilla, two beef enchiladas, and an order of nachos with just chicken and cheese. After she left our table, 5 minutes later a waiter came back to take it again because he said “she wasn’t sure” of our orders. We told him again and he wrote it again. Then about 15 minutes or so later our food arrives…. ALL three orders were incorrect! A third person came over to take our orders AGAIN!!!! The original waitress cam over and said “well my English very good” when trying to justify why all three orders were wrong. We said we just want our bill for the drinks and we would be leaving because it had been well over an hour. The waiter actually brought the bill instead of just comping the three drinks and then never returned to collect the bill. We had to track him down outside just to pay. I am so disappointed in the service and want to warn others that there is clearly still work to do with their wait staff. We left hungry...
