04.18.24 On the border of Santa Cruz & Capitola. Cantonese Chinese food. Lady owner was sweet! Small restaurant looks kind of run down on both the outside as well as the inside, needs very deep cleaning, new clear outdoor signage. Very inexpensive lunch specials were tasty enough, though the soup that came w.it was inedible (clear vinegary soup w.bamboo slices & tofu), long cabbage filled egg roll was ok, Beef in Black Bean Sauce & Ginger Beef were indistinguishable but both were good, lots of food, nice stir fried crunchy fresh vegetables, hot steamed white rice. Hot tea was fresh & good. Utensils & plating needs to be replaced. We would visit again. Also; restroom is on the outside and you must get a key to use it from the lady owner. Parking is limited, maybe 12-13 vehicles only.

Food was exactly what I was looking for. Service, she was spot on. Checking in with every table, taking orders, making no jokes, etc. Definitely had a polite small town feel. Hunan beef was nice, crispy and just spicy enough. Chow mein chicken and eggs rolls were perfect. I asked for every spicy sauce they had. Chili oil/spices was classic and deliciously delicious. Their other version of a thick spicy sauce was 🔥🔥🔥Not too hot but super tasty! Eggs rolls were nice and crispy. Definitely coming back. Thank you!!!

This place is insanely good. If you go through my other reviews, I already admitted to being a snob about these things. There hasn't been anything I dont like here so far.

The combination fried rice is so beautiful and has plenty of char siu in it. It's the most seasoned combination fried rice in Santa Cruz.

Long egg rolls. They're normal thickness, but about as long as two typical egg rolls put together. Perfect crunch, I'm telling you.

Super duper good beef with string beans. The string beans are blistered/seared just right and beef is very tasteful. Can feel a tiny bit oily but not in the bad way.

Sweet & sour fish fillet and also the calamari are coated and fried very well. Actually, the first night when we came here, some lady was fighting the waitress trying to get a refund for the calamari and other food she ordered despite eating all of it. Yes, it was the typical suspect you're imagining.

We tried the basic dishes so far but were insanely impressed. Looking forward to going back. Everyone is very nice there and sometimes you can see them prepping veggies near the entrance. Thats how you know a restaurant...

Edit: 3 years later and I tried it again. No complaints! There was just one woman working the front end all by herself but doing an awesome job. She was really nice and welcoming.

No stomach problems to speak of! Very affordable compared to other places, and they have generous portions. I loved how they cooked the veggies, Al dente!!! Had the broccoli beef which was tasty, fried rice was quite good, Kung Pao chicken was really good but could've been spicier and had a surprising vamount of zuchini in it.... But I enjoyed the extra veggies! I'd go back for sure.

Original review: Cheap eats. I got food poisoning! Tasted good before that happened. I’m not 100% sure it was from them as my companion didn’t get sick. I won’t be going...
