Beautiful establishment, as is to be expected. Warm, immediate service with a smile. Bread a little slow coming out but that’s manageable.

What is “not” manageable and was completely unexpected was a dry, old tasting steak.

I’ve dined at probably 8 different Longhorns and I can speak with authority and through empirical observation alone on this: this HAD to have been a “one off” day for Longhorn in general. I can’t accept any other explanation. Their steaks are generally on point.

The remainder of the dining experience was fine. But as the name of the symbolic establishment makes clear, “steaks” and not only steaks but finely prepared and selected “steaks” cooked to order are its specialty folks expect no mistake there. Hence, Longhorn “Steak”house.

Specifics: ordered a medium rare and 1) received what actually did appear on the inside and out to be a medium rare steak but was tough as all get out and my guest and I labored at sawing through the thing sharing a few chuckles 2), was very old and dry tasting as in a dry and dirty kitchen rag or old cow (same perhaps) and 3) had no scant flavor or hint of a grilled steak. A board. A 2x4-like thing.

Note: some might ask then why not bring it up to your server?

My response is that 1) oftentimes in a fast-paced business lunch environment, one has no time to sit there and wait on another steak. That after complaining. We had waited long enough (which was fair, btw) and besides, 2) the appetizer was both delicious and filling thankfully. That along with the sides made for a decent late lunch.

Would I dine there again? Yes, I would.

Just making sure that i immediately check my steak as soon add it hits the table, for any of the attributes I’ve listed above. Plus, ensuring that i have more time in my hand just in case I need to return the dish to the kitchen.

I will change my next visit f the experience has improved.

Update: Had another early dinner here tonight and the food was excellent! Hubby had the Chopped Steak with mashed potatoes, crispy Brussels sprouts and a side of Texas Tonions. I had the Cowboy Pork Chops with sides of crispy okra, and citrus rice. Great food! Great customer service by Kamaron. We will definitely return again to try other dishes and would certainly recommend you try this location.

Update: Had lunch here yesterday with a good friend and we both enjoyed the Grilled Chicken salad with strawberries, grapes, feta cheese and balsamic vinaigrette and baked sweet potatoes on the side. I also had a cup of the Chicken Tortilla soup. All of the food was really good. Great customer service! We will definitely return again and would certainly recommend you visit Longhorn Steakhouse in Live Oak, Tx.

We’ve dined in here at Longhorn Steakhouse and we’ve done takeout from here as well over the past few weeks. Great customer service received both times for dining in and take out. Both times we had the Texas Tonion with zesty dip. I ordered the Ribeye steak with fried okra, mashed potatoes and a strawberry pecan salad with an excellent vinaigrette. Hubby ordered the Chop Steak with mashed potatoes, smothered with grilled mushrooms, caramelized onions, and savory garlic herb sauce and a Steakhouse Mac and cheese. We were served hot bread with butter. All of the food was hot, well seasoned and very tasty. Will certainly return again and would definitely recommend. Great customer service. For takeout this past weekend, we ordered the Chop Steak with mashed potatoes and gravy again, another order of Tonions, Cowboy Pork Chops with mashed potatoes and gravy, Seasoned Steak House Wings, Firecracker Chicken Wraps, Fried okra, and Fried Brussels Sprouts. Again, all of the food was excellent. Will definitely return again and would...

Review edited June 28, 2025 We invited a couple of friends to have dinner 🍽 at LongHorn Steakhouse. Parking is limited at the front door, but we got lucky as a customer was leaving. We were all hungry 😋 Our party of six was given a corner booth. The bench seat was super uncomfortable! When you sit down, you sink in the seat! There is no way to eat a delicious meal in this manner. I hope Management looks into the replacement or repair of the bench seats. I asked the hostess if we could sit at a table of six that was available. Our server was a bit slow in bring drinks, salads and dinner. When we got our dinners, one of the friends ordered Ribeye and got NY strip instead. He returned it and the manager had a Ribeye cooked immediately and served within 5 minutes. Kudos 👏 to the manager for the quick response. I ordered the Center Cut porkchops. I wanted to check other dishes. My order comes with three perfectly cooked porkchops. They were moist and seasoned well. It came with house salad and baked sweat potato 🥔 😋 Our friends all enjoyed our dinners and drinks. I recommend and Enjoy 😉

So we're out and about and its dinner time. We stopped at LongHorn Steakhouse. Aaliyah our sever took charge! She had several tables along with ours. She handled us systematicly. We gave her our orders and within minutes we had drinks and fresh baked bread. She brought our salads, before we finished our salads Bam! Our 12oz Ribeye Steak and loaded potato was at our table. Both steaks were . perfectly seasoned, very tender and cooked to perfection medium-rare. To finish our dinner we had coffee that was special brewed. It went great with the chocolate cake. Sorry I didn't take pictures, my hands were holding a fork and knife;)) Our dinner had the 3mmm+ factor! MMM-M! GOOD! I...

We ate here the other night for the first time and honestly it started out just as bad as it can get. Thankfully the manager Lonnie rescued the night for us for sure. So we got there about 7:45pm and were greeting very unwelcomingly by a snobby hostess who only acknowledged, talked, and looked at my white wife even though I was standing next to her. The wait is 15 min so my wife asks about the bar and it is open so we go to the bar. About 20 min later still no drinks, no bread, no service, no anything. I was fuming ready to walk out. We see a manger and my wife goes and let's him know what horrible service we had experienced already in the 20 min we had been there. He comes back to the table with my wife, sincerely apologizes for the terrible service we had received thus far, takes our drink order, comes back with our sweet teas and the bartender who brought our bread and took our order. From the moment my wife got Lonnie's attention that man did everything he could to turn our experience around and boy did he do an absolutely wonderful job too!!!! The service was good, the food was phenomenal!!! My porterhouse steak was probably the best steak I've ever eaten and that is comparing it to Charter House, Pappadeaux's, Saltgrass, and even Chama Gaúcha. Thank you Lonnie!!!
