IKEA — Local services in Live Oak

Just to be clear, I'm giving San Antonio Ikea location a 1 star and giving Round Rock Ikea location, 4 stars.

Here's my 1 star review for the San Antonio location:

I went to San Antonio Ikea yesterday (Saturday June 14th) to purchase two Hemnes bookcases. By the way, I live in San Antonio. Online it said they had 6 in stock at the store. I called ahead and they said we actually have 3 in stock. Not a problem because I only needed two. They opened at 10am and I got there around 11am. I went to the isle that the product was located and they only had 1, not 3. I went to help desk and asked if they can check their inventory to see if they have more in the back. They said "unfortunately we don't, there must be an issue with our system". So I decided to take the one that was available and I asked if we can order the other bookcase online and have it delivered. They set-up my online order, delivery and assembly set-up. Printed out a paper receipt that had a barcode on it so I can scan it when I get to the check out station and pay for it. However, we needed to set up another assembly order for the one product I was going to take home with me. For that, I had to go to customer service so they can set it up. So I went to customer service before I paid for anything (under the direction of the help desk staff). When I got to customer service, they told me that they could not add any additional request to any product that had not been purchased yet. I showed them the online paper that was just created for me and it had not been purchased. I said, "if the online order can be created w/o payment, why can't the physical product be done the same?" My thought was, why would anyone purchase something that isn't considered a complete order. But I digress! Since there was no more in stock, they had to cancel the online order and took the physical product and told me that the online order will be the physical product. So the physical product is going to be shipped to my address with the installation. I thought that was weird as they could have canceled the online order and let me go home with the physical product but now I have to wait 3 days for it. I asked customer service if they could see if there is any in stock at a different Ikea location. The nearest location was the Ikea near Austin,TX called Round Rock. Customer service said I could call them and see if they had some in stock but I would have to go to them to pick it up since Ikea only delivers to a 30 to 35 mile radius. They also informed me that I could check back with the store next week to see if they have more in stock, as they were anticipating on getting more of bookcase products. I was fuming inside!

Here's my 4 star review for Round Rock Ikea location:

I get home after leaving San Antonio Ikea location and I decided to call Ikea (Round Rock location) to see if they do or don't deliver to San Antonio. I called them and they said, "WE DO" deliver to San Antonio. I told them what had just happen at the San Antonio location and they were SHOCKED to shingles by the information I was given. However, I was extremely excited that they deliver to San Antonio and I asked them if I could make a purchase for a product over the phone. They said, yes! I went ahead made the order which included delivery and assembly. They sent me an email and a text message with a link that I could use on my end to input my payment method. I asked when would the earliest delivery will be? They told me it could be delivered on the 16th (a Monday). I said, "wow that would be perfect". So we set it up. That same evening, I got a email notification that the delivery was coming as soon as tomorrow (the 15th, a Sunday), which is today and they already delivered it. I find it to be crazy that another city can make a fast delivery versus my own city. Thank you Ikea in Round Rock for your expedited service. San Antonio needs to do...

This store is VERY new and located in the NE side of town. This IKEA store is so huge it's about 250,000 sq ft. They have so many items to choose from with some reasonable prices. If you like simple, sleek, modern and sale prices this is the place for you. They have different setups displayed from bedrooms to living rooms and kitchen to give you an idea of how a room will look with each piece. Midway through the warehouse they have a restaurant and cafeteria area to eat. They carry mostly healthy meals with lots of Greens, Meats and chicken tender plates for the kiddos. As BIG has this place is you'll definitely need a break to rest your feet and get a bite to eat. Personally it's like going to Fiesta Texas or SeaWorld that's how HUGE this place is. The staff is friendly and helpful and will assist you with your questions and suggestions if needed. I can't Express how good the prices are and some items from a distance have a Great quality appeal until you touch the item and realize it's either fabric or hard plastic. It looks like you spent $1,000's on a item but you actually spent $59. The checkout system is very quick even though the lines get packed it moves swiftly. I arrived at 6 PM and by the time I knew it they were announcing the store was closing. I only made it half way through the store. Be prepared with comfortable tennis and if you have little ones be sure to have something to entertain them because this store is Massive they'll get tired. If you're looking for affordable furniture or anything for your home and garden this is definitely a place you should visit there's certainly something here to fit everyone's...

Note: There is a very large 90°angled checkout surrounding each checker - they All wear masks & gloves. *Masks are are required to Enter & for employees.

Once in you'll be charmed. You'll find not only the Attractive, Simplistic, Colorful & Charmingly Useful, but everyday selections with a twist. Lots of light colored wood.. Even If you walk in intending to find furniture or a particular item, small enticements await you. An unusual lamp, wire silverware holders, framed photos..its all there for you to find.. while you work your way towards the exit.

This day we were hunting for 98" long curtains which we had problems finding elsewhere. I'm attaching curtain samples for you to see what's available. Easily found are curtain rods in black, silver & gold colors along with the rings or clips to attach them.

Photo #4, showing lovely designs of shades, a myriad of colors, some are even textured! In addition to curtains, these are fold up-lift up paper, material shades. They only come in 1 width though, 24", but they are 108" long!

We found a 20" × 20" by 28" tall black tables, now using them next to easy ch asd irs & bedside. Perfect to lay your laptop, phone, coffee, etc on near your favorite relaxing spot.

Don't forget to slow down your breeze-thru & visit the kitchen dinnerware section. Perfect white plates for $.79 c. For a couple more $ you can buy deep matching med. sized serving or " spaghetti or soup" bowls, thicker, far nicer...
