Tiny place, and the first time I've visited. As the name suggests, the restaurant specializes in seafood and chips - French fries to some of us. Being an Englishman, I have experience of fish and chips places in England. I can attest to them being hit and miss - over there they cook chips in volume and they often keep the chips hot under a heat lamp waiting for the next customer. That often makes the chips taste limp and unappetizing. OTOH, Louise's prepares everything after your order is placed. The result? Super fresh and crispy battered fish, the fish melting in the mouth. You can tell right away the fries have just been cooked. Delicious! There's another Bay area seafood place worth visiting: Cook's in Palo Alto. They've been planning a new location in Pleasanton for ever, but the point is that I'd describe the Cook's product as closest equivalent to Louise's. On a different topic: I asked the head guy at Louise's what was the fish? He said something about something from Alaska. My request is that they say what it is on the menu - a kind of value-add piece of information. Back to the English fish and chips restaurants: it's usual over there to choose between several fish types in one's fish and chips, and so I just wondered what it was that I was...
Read moreThis place was awesome!! I was on a mini staycation with my wife and we couldn't decide what to eat. The place we originally wanted to eat was downtown which we didn't do alot of research and long story short we were so hungry of driving around downtown just looking for parking that we end up craving some fish and chips. We came across Louise's fish and chips and my wife and I was satisfied!👏 We ordered a Fam meal came with 6 pcs of fish and 20 pcs of shrimp with fries. I know your wondering all that for the two of you, lol. We like to order so we could eat later, don't judge us🤣any who the food came and it was yummy for the tummy! They're definitely not shy with their portions! Everything was nicely crispy and the fish was not small it was a pretty big size, and the fries weren't the usual nasty fries that comes with fish and chips it was all tasty options will definitely visit next time I'm...
Read moreLouise's is the epitome of comfort food; they're probably the only restaurant in this area that does truly glutinous, delicious deeply fried fish and chips - and I love it! It's so heavy, but so good at the same time. And it's not just fish - they apply the same fantastic fry to shrimp, oysters, calamari, mushrooms, etc. It's very similar to what you would get at an H. Salt Fish & Chips. Their pricing is competitive - for example, I easily feed a family of four on combo pack alone ($40 for 6 fish, 16 shrimp, and fries).
I typically order over the phone for in-store pickup, and the turnaround time for this is quick - most of my orders seem to be ready within 15 minutes of placing. The restaurant itself is clean - the owner and his staff remain masked at all times, and work behind plastic barriers when prepping the food. The staff is also very pleasant...
