We went to dinner hoping to have a good time and ended up with the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The food was good but there was a very unfair situation going on. We arrived and sat and waited for about 20 minutes for them to take our drink orders. The waitress (Nikki) that was supposed to take our drink order went and took other people’s orders that arrived after us. At this point we asked if they were going to take our order or not at which time they made another waitress (Jada) that was taking the food orders come to take our drink order because Nikki didn’t want to. Once Jada brought our drinks (I’m pretty sure that’s what Nikki was avoiding) all of a sudden Nikki takes over taking our food order. While we’re ordering she’s turning around ignoring us to the point that she brought two plates that we did not order and tried to make us take them. I told her we didn’t order them and that the issue is that she was not paying attention. The bad service by Nikki continued. We asked for sweet and low and salt and both times had to ask Jada because Nikki never brought them. When we were done eating she asked if the check was together or separate. We told her separate and started to tell her what each ticket would have. She interrupted my sister as she was speaking then walked away and left her talking. She returns with several copies of the ticket and hands them to us to split and walks away. My sister tells the manager that this is not our job and Jada helped split everything and brought us our tickets. At the end we decided Jada deserved the tips because she was the one that was checking on us the whole time and refilling our drinks so we gave it to her and now Nikki decided it was her table and was asking her for the tips. We specifically asked the manager that we wanted Jada to be our only waitress and he said ok but let Nikki bring the food to the table. When we told her we asked for Jada she said she didn’t want to serve us which was a lie because we heard her arguing with Jada about it. This is unfair and violates the Fair Labor Standards Act, the worst thing is that the owner and manager allow her to steal her tips. Hope she gets justice or you all change the way you treat your...

Had THE WORST experience I've had in any restaurant here. I usually order to go, but my mom wanted to have the Livingston roll. We ordered ahead before we came to hopefully cut down on wait time for food. We get to Sakura after 20 minutes expecting everything to be done. The waitress grabs us to go to our table and walks behind us, we thought maybe we had to choose a table, but she actually wanted us to sit at a booth. I tried to tell her that we ordered ahead and she just sat us and went to play on her phone, she comes back after 5 minutes and asks for our drinks and brings them out, I tell her again we ordered ahead over the phone. We wait for 20 minutes and they bring out our hot food and after 30 minutes bring us our sushi. She played on her phone between all of this not even trying to hide what she is doing. She walks away without asking us if we want anything else and we wanted eel sauce and ginger sauce. I always tip, but decided not to this time. She asked me if she was getting a tip after I wrote nothing in the tip section and after my mom asked her for to go boxes she asks her three times if she is getting a tip. Brings my mom one small box for three sushi rolls. WORST WAITRESS I'VE EVER HAD they were not even busy it was only us and one other table and only two to go orders. Why on earth she thinks she deserves a tip is beyond me. I've worked for 3 years as a waitress in the past and would NEVER expect a tip for...

If you've ever been to Takara in Cleveland, TX, this place is basically the same thing, but smaller. They have hibachi without the show, sushi, soups, and tempura. The staff were nice, the place was clean, and our food was served quickly.

There are tables squished into the main part of the restaurant (not enough room for a wheelchair), and booths on the back wall. Decor was an afterthought, and there are TV's to watch while you wait for your order.

We were seated immediately, but must have made it right before the rush, because there were at least two parties standing at the door at all times thereafter. I felt badly for them, because there was nowhere to sit to wait for a table.

The food was good and the portions were acceptable for the prices. We got sushi and hibachi (steak and shrimp). The steak and shrimp were overcooked, but seasoned well and not dry. We tried peach sake and it tasted like perfume, so I don't recommend it (the lychee is better). Overall, we were really pleased to have an Asian kitchen like this in Livingston and will be back!

Pro tip: the door to the bathrooms looks like it would be for a single stall situation, but there's actually a hallway behind it with men's and...

I have to be honest…I thought “How good can sushi be in Livingston, TX? BBQ and Mexican food are one thing, but sushi? No way.” Boy was I wrong! The place was packed with people and the inside waiting area was filling up. Since we were hungry, we decided to sit at the bar. There, we watched them hand make all the rolls and other orders. It was nice to see that they hand cut the fish rather than reach into a container of precut stuff. I ordered the Green Devil, my wife ordered the Philadelphia and we shared the Sakura. All of the rolls were amazingly fresh and seemingly melt in your mouth. I’ve never had sushi that was this good and I’ve been to a gazillion places in and around Houston. We will definitely be coming back!

Nice to see Livingston get a Japanese restaurant! We had the bento boxes for my daughter’s birthday. They were nice. I was disappointed in my scallops, as they were rubbery and difficult to chew. Two guests talked on their phones much of the time on speaker phone, mostly to scam callers/telemarketers. They were pretty obnoxious and made it difficult to enjoy our dinner. It would be nice if management could step in for situations like this.
