McDonald's — Restaurant in Lockhart

I loved the old McDonald's, before they tore it down and replaced it with another generic looking McDonalds that you can find anywhere. Before they tore down the old building, they had a play place and the atmosphere in the building had a very Texan, small town feel. My favorite thing was all the large, beautiful cowboy/horse and cattle painting that was painted onto the largest wall they had. There was also an equally beautiful glass divider that divided the play place from the main building that had horse/cattle images imprinted on them. Before we moved here, we would drive through Lockhart all the time. My favorite place to go was the McDonald's with the horse designs and the herd of sheep in the pasture beside the building. I was disappointed when RBFCU, a bank, bought the land beside McDonald's and subsequently the sheep were moved, but I was really disappointed to find that they had decided to scrap the Texan small town feel for just another generic, city atmosphered McDonald's. Admittedly, the old building needed renovations, but that's really all it needed. It didn't need to be completely torn down and rebuilt.

Aside from my own personal feelings and comparisons, this McDonald's no longer has a play place, but there are a couple touch screen devices that have kid games on them. Though, there is always one device that isn't working. There is also a table that lights up different colors periodically, and also changes colors whenever you move your hands across the surface. I love this table, but be warned, it's right next to the little kid's corner with the touch screen devices, so you're likely to endure screaming and general kid noises while you eat if you sit at that table. The dining area is also very large. Overall, from the types of chairs they chose/the decorations/etc., this McDonald's has a very modern, technological feel. I can't say much about the staff since there's literally always a new face when I go there, but so far they've been fairly...

This is towards whoever works near night around 9pm. They are really slow. Like really slow (30 minutes in drive thru). I got through the line and ordered a 20 pc chicken nugget and a pumpkin pie. I got up there i paid. I checked my food — they gave me no pumpkin pie. I was told to go around and wait again. This time i used my 99 cent deal for iced coffee to get a iced coffee instead as they were hesitant. After a 20 minute wait i got up there again. They tell me their register is down i cant pay for anything. Thats fine, i ordered a pie and didnt get anything and no one told me there was none.

They tell me, pull forward to next window. I get there i explain again. The kid at the window is hesitant and turns around to ask his manager. Im like come on dude.. the pies are $1.58 and i used a $0.99 coffee deal to just get a coffee instead so im paying extra for nothing and you still hesitate to give me it after handing me my meal and not even informing me about no pies..

Tl;dr there was no pumpkin pies, but i paid for it, they never gave me it and never informed me, and had to wait 50 minutes in line for them to hesitate over giving me a free 99 cent coffee in replacement of the pie i paid for.

Morning crew is...

I was traveling home and stopped here for lunch at 11 am. I ordered the #3 meal (double quarter pounder). They confirmed that I ordered a breakfast meal and told me that there were no fountain drinks. I corrected them and asked what they had available to drink. One of the options was iced tea, so I ordered that. When I arrived at pickup window #1, I was told that they were out of tea. I asked for a refund on the drink. They told me to move up to pickup window #2. I waited while they served 10 vehicles and received no help. I then opened the pickup window and yelled for someone to come to the window. I explained that I wanted my meal and a receipt for the drink refund. She came back with the food, but there was no receipt. I asked again for the refund. She left, and several minutes later, someone else came to the window with a dollar and some change to refund my drink. I'm guessing that initially, they figured I would leave with my food and no...
