If you haven't been to Its Auight Bbq then you're missing out on amazing food and amazing people!
I know it may not matter to some but as a biracial woman married to (black) woman, the first thing I do before trying a new restaurant here in GA is make sure they are friendly. I always try to call first or fbi search their business page. The reason for that is racism or hatred because of who I love. I tend to keep to myself here in LG because of it. I've been turned away from businesses from Butts county, Henry county, and Fulton county. It's been a hard transition living here. I know it shouldn't be like this and it's sad that I've felt hate from many people in this state but the last few years here have gotten a lot better!
With that being said, this bbq place is outstanding. The brisket is tender and flavorful and if you've never had pig wings, I suggest you try! Not only is their food amazing but they are kind and inviting. Being able to walk in a restaurant with my wife and our two boys, feeling welcomed and safe is an amazing feeling. It assures myself and especially my boys that not everyone is mean and unkind.
Thank you Its Auight Bbq for great food at a great price and for most importantly being kind to...
Read moreIt's NOT Auight! I stopped in for the first time today. I'm of the belief that BBQ should be seasoned so we'll that it could be eaten with or without sauce. In this case, I needed lots of sauce. My pork sandwich was very bland and dry. The little cup of sauce didn't help. The stew lacks lots of flavor. I suppose made by the same pork. I'll doctor it up to consume it later. The collards taste like WATER!! There was not a single grain of seasoning in them. Not one! Yuck!! I thought pickles come with bbq. Not here. I'm good. I won't be back. I should have taken my $18 a few more steps up the block to Shorty's. Today has not been a good experience with food in The Grove today. I'll feed the pork to my pup since it has no seasoning. I even asked the young lady taking orders if their greens were good. She said "yes, they are. I've never tasted them, but they're good." Okay, not sure how you know that. 🤔 I should...
Read moreMe and my family recently stayed at an Airbnb in Locust Grove as we were attending the Nascar Race that weekend. My son picked this place for his birthday and let me tell you, the food is superb but the people were like coming home after a long day and receiving the best hug. We talked about them all weekend. They showed so much interest in our family. The brisket melted in your mouth, the pig wings were so juicy, and all the sides were on point! Also the BBQ sauce was so good, we brought some home. Including the ice cream, YUM! We even went back for breakfast where they engaged us even more, and even offered to help us with our brakes on our truck when we had a slight vehicle issue. Please do yourself a favor and support this local business. Thank you to this family and thank you God for leading us to them. We even talked about making Locust Grove home one day, because people make all the...
