UPDATE - 12/29/23 Voted one of the top 50 places to eat in North Jersey in 2023, this establishment serves an assortment of authentic Greek food. Jersey Gyros is located off of Main Street in Lodi, where I have visited several times and decided on dinner tonight. Upon entering this clean, welcoming, simple yet beautiful Mediterranean decor with the Greek music playing in the background, I was greeted by staff and the owner, Mike. The vibe is casual, with an open kitchen. I decided on their Paketo Platter, which came with 1 protein (lamb gyro), but asked for an additional (chicken), 1 base (Greek salad), 1 spread (hummus), and 1 side (Greek fries) served with pita bread and a Loux orange juice drink. The flavor and the spices cooked to perfection equal an amazing meal. They didn’t skimp on the portion, as it was good for a second meal whose price was reasonable. After speaking with the owner, I can tell that a lot of heart and soul was put into making this food, and I will continue to recommend this place. ————————— Located at a strip mall off of Main Street in Lodi, Jersey Gyros definitely focused on providing high quality assortment of authentic Greek 🇬🇷food for take out and delivery. This establishment has a few tables for dine-in which I had lunch today. Upon arrival, the 1,100-square foot hand-painted mural of the Greek goddess Artemis from a local artist greeted the patrons. The place was clean, new, and aesthetically pleasing with Greek music playing for one’s enjoyment. Everything looked good on the menu and went for the Paketo Platter which came with 1 protein (lamb gyro), 1 base (Greek salad), 1 spread (tzatziki) and 1 side (Greek fries) served with pita bread accompanying an orange juice drink. The food arrived hot and came in their eco-friendly takeout box from Greece ensuring the ink from the box’s labels does not get into the food. Their gyro didn’t skimp on the meat portion which was well seasoned and delicious. The Greek fries were crispy and loaded with feta. The salad included one large blocks of feta. While eating, Mike the owner, a first generation American, came around each table to make sure everything was going right. We had a nice conversation and mentioned he born into a family of restaurateurs and says his passion for the industry is in his blood. I believe him as everything tasted as one was having dinner at a family friend’s house which I...
Read moreFor years, my Wife and I could never find a solid Greek food spot near us. Nearest we went to was about 20-30 miles away, anywhere else close to Lodi is good but nothing…mind blowing.
However, now, that all changes. When we heard Jersey Gyros opened today(August 3rd) we decided to have it for dinner and we were blown away.
The chicken gyro in pita was LOADED and had this mustard sauce my Wife kept talking about that was only in Greece..well now…it’s here!
My Wife got chicken souvlaki with barley and lemon potatoes. Got a little spicy feta on the side, DELICIOUS!
The owner and his cashier checked on us to make sure we had a great meal which we certainly enjoyed! Had our Loux drinks and kataifi to go!
After speaking with the owner, I can tell, a lot of heart and soul was put into making this food. I wish the family the best of luck with this place. I really hope to see this place thrive and open more places in the near future for others to try.
If you love Greek food, look no where else but here. If you don’t love Greek food, then this place will change your mind.
We will be coming here frequently, every other Greek food spot I don’t think comes close to the authentic nature that this place...

If the waft of delicious, homemade Greek food isn’t enough to reel you in, the warm and humble hospitality sure will. The owner, Mike, has brought his Greek heritage to this restaurant and poured his heart and soul into it. He is extremely proud of his Greek culture and it is evident in the amazing food. The dining area is clean and a perfect spot for a convenient bite of food. A lot of the recipes are handmade by his own mom, including the flaky and savory spanakopita and the sweet baklava that will leave you wanting more. I could not get enough of the delicious and piping warm gyros - they were stuffed with Greek fries just as they would on the streets of Greece! The lamb souvlaki was so tender and savory made with fantastic Greek spices that we know and love. We also got to sample a spread of tasty Greek fruit drinks which all are imported from Greece. Don’t leave without trying their decadent desserts either. I would strongly advise you take your family and friends to Jersey Gyros for a delicious feast of...
