Called in to inquire about my 1.5 carat diamond engagement ring after several attempts to visit the location and found out they were closed at the times google has them listed as open. I donât know who I spoke with but he was very rude and told me they donât deal with diamonds that small and told me to go to eBay. I only decided to contact them after reading all the positive reviews which Iâm beginning to wonder if their are actually from real people and not fakes one you can purchase. I hoped heâd at least be able to tell me what I could get for the ring but apparently me and my 1.5 carat ring were not worth his time. Thankfully I was able to speak to a professional at another jewelry store I previously spend a lot of money with over $15k. I would mention them by name but I want readers to know this is a REAL post. And not one to promote another business. In any case thanks for showing me the type of service you give people Iâll be sure to never do business with you or recommend your business to anyone I know.
Update:
And despite what is being said in the reply below... NEVER DID YOU MENTION YOU DONâT GIVE PRICES OVER THE PHONE. You flat out told me you donât handle diamonds that small and I should go on EBAY. See I can type in all caps too. I only mentioned the appraisal because I thought you misheard me when I said 1.5 carats. I thought maybe you in heard half carat. And if it were a matter of coming into your location because of a policy you have that no one could possibly know unless you actually told them... then you couldâve simply mentioned that but you did not. You simply said what you said you and told me the appraisal meant nothing. Pay attention folks... THE APPRAISAL MEANS NOTHING!!! A WARNING to everyone its a waste of time buying jewelry especially diamonds from any jewelry store. Youâll plunk down your hard earned money thinking the value is equal to what you pay. But the truth is they get their diamonds for $1,500 to $3,000 then sell it to you for 10xâs what it cost them. Oh and if you need sell it back for any reason youâll be lucky if youâll get half of what you paid for it. But once you sell it they then resell it for the same high price you originally purchased it for. So is it worth what you pay for it or not? đ€ Itâs all a very elaborate scam a polish one but a scam nonetheless. The reviews made it seem like he is one of the nice ones who is service oriented, and who knows maybe he is when he isnât being dismissive. Maybe youâre were having a bad day, who knows? But If my review causes you to provide better customer service moving forward then so be it. If not then any smart customer will see right through you and will take their business elsewhere. And maybe will even leave a not so nice review as...
Read moreI have dealt with Tim at Bergen County Gold Buyers for a number of years. He is down to earth is honest and has integrity. Integrity and honesty are two attributes that are lacking in this industry (and that is very sad). Tim will level with you even if it means bursting your bubble of what you thought was super valuable and explain to you (in detail) and prove what he is saying. He conducts his business right in front of you. He will test your items and explain everything in detail so you know you are making an informed decision. He also goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk into his store For instance, I was just in there with a pair of earrings I was thinking of selling. He said they are beautiful earrings but I'd be better off keeping them because they weren't worth much to sell. He then proceeded to go into detail and explain why. I highly doubt other gold buyers would take the time to explain everything the way he does. Also, he has the most adorable mascot/fur-baby, Molly. She is the official BCGB meet and greet puppy. Even if you don't sell or buy anything she is worth a trip to the store. The store is immaculately clean and very well lit. No dingy, creepy pawn shop feeling here. He also has some beautiful jewelry on display for sale. They aren't just gold buyers. His assistant, Kevin is very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. You will know you are in good hands when you come to Bergen County Gold Buyers. I wouldn't consider selling my gold items anywhere else because I TRUST Tim and he has earned that trust by being honest everytime we have...
Read moreI am a retired 69 year-old Wall Street executive. Over the course of my lifetime, I have frequented dozens of jewelry establishments in the New Jersey, New York City and the Connecticut areas, and none of them ever came close to providing the level of courtesy and professionalism I recently encountered at Bergen County Gold and Diamonds.
Tim, the owner and proprietor of Bergen County Gold and Diamonds, exudes class, fairness, and friendliness, a combination that is hard to find today during the course of most business interactions.
I had several items I was looking to sell and buy, and Tim spent an inordinate amount of time with me until I was super comfortable with all of my jewelry decisions. And I doubt if there is anyone in the tri-state area that knows more about Rolex watches than Tim does.
Overall, it was the best experience by far I've ever had at a jewelry establishment. I am thrilled a friend of mine referred me to Tim, and am looking forward to paying him another visit this year, just as the holidays...
