Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Logan Township

At 9:25 PM, I walked into your Altoona location with my family, craving a quick treat: one Blizzard, five small cones, and two Dilly Bars. Easy, right? Wrong.

We were told the kitchen was closed—only to watch multiple customers after us order and receive hot food. Apparently, the rules shift based on who walks in.

The cook in the back? Dropping f-bombs, mean-mugging customers, and barking at overwhelmed teenagers like it was a boot camp gone off the rails. If I wanted a side of verbal abuse with my cone, I’d go to a Martins station at midnight.

Despite a small army of staff, our simple order took over 30 minutes. Eight other customers were served first. When I finally begged for a vanilla cone, they set it on the counter like it was a slice of pizza—and watched it fall over. Because cones don’t stand on their own, folks.

By 9:58 PM, we had the rest. Melted. Messy. Wrong. Even the Blizzard didn’t get its ceremonial upside-down flip. At that point, why bother?

As we left, the cook was still shouting orders to “pull the drawers.” Frankly, someone should’ve pulled the plug on this trainwreck of a shift.

Dairy Queen Altoona will not have me as a repeat customer.

Ordered the lunch special..comes with a sundae I wanted to upgrade to a double cheese burger..been doing this for years I pay extra for the second patty but this time the girl said they can't do that, I either get a single or buy a double on the side..RIDICULOUS! Then my buddy and I go to get our sundae and she tells us they have no strawberry..This is DQ and you can't get a strawberry sundae! This is the second time we had a bad experience at this DQ..last time they said it was because they were short-staffed which was a lie we saw four employees walking all over the place. Stay away from this place. Also no salt or pepper was told to look by the soda machine ..nothing there and they didn't care. Worst DQ...

Horrible.. waited 30 mins to get several ice cream items.. asked a gentleman about our order, didnt see the slip so he went to the kitchen to check- they gave him a headset and sent him to the drive thru. Husband asked about our order again when a lady decided to come back out from the kitchen and she said 'we are short handed so your welcome to come back and help' then when he said we have been waiting for 30 mins she said you shouldn't of waited that long. We knew their drive thru was busy, trying to be patient with them but we had little ones that were getting impatient and she tries to tell us to be patient but then again not to wait. Just very...
