We’ve gone to Texas Roadhouse many times, and have always had a good experience. Except, we went over the weekend, and received really poor food and service. We expected the wait to be 30 or more minutes on a Friday, so we weren’t surprised that we had to wait for 30 min. Once we sat down, we ordered our food. 30 min went by and we hadn’t received our food, but it was busy and understandable. 45 minutes went by and the waiter said, let me check your food. He came back and said our order was not placed through their system! Again it was busy, so we understood that mistakes happen. Our almost 2 year old daughter was getting impatient, it was 7:00pm, and she was ready for bed. 20 minutes go by and no food still. We told the server if we could get it to-go since we had a screaming child by this time. We got our food finally, and I’ll be honest by this point I was hoping for a free appetizer or something for messing up our order and making us wait for nearly an hour and a half. We left the restaurant at around 7:30, arrived home to find our chicken fried steak to be really salty. I thought it was just mine, but my wife’s was also really salty. I didn’t want to make a fuss about it, but I was not impressed. I called the Logan store and told them about our salty entrees. The lady on the phone said, “what do you want me to do about it. Are you calling just to be heard?” I said “No, I would like to know about your company policy on customers that have a meal they are not happy with. She said she would get her manager. I told him about my experience and would like to know about what his company policy was. He said, “Well, you’re the first person who has called about their food being salty. What would you like me to do? Do you want compensation?” I said, “whatever your company policy is. If compensation is what you would like to give, I’ll accept that.” He asked for the name that was on the card we used, and that he would take care of it. We ended up paying full price for our visit. I don’t recommend the integrity of this restaurant. Poor service all around. We really enjoyed going in the past, sad to see it...
Read moreMy husband and I don't often get the chance to dine out, so when we do, our expectation is genuinely for a well-prepared meal and a smooth experience. Unfortunately, our recent visit to Texas Roadhouse was significantly hampered by repeated issues with food temperature and a disjointed service flow, making it a very disappointing evening.
We had three orders: our individual meals and a to-go order for our teen. We made a specific request for the to-go order to be prepared closer to our departure time to ensure it would stay warm. Despite this, it was the very first item brought to our table, which meant it was inevitably cold by the time we left.
Next, our first bowls of chili arrived. Both my husband and I immediately noticed their unusual, almost gel-like thickness. It quickly became apparent why: the chili was SUPER cold, which was the sole reason for its consistency and made it impossible to properly mix in the cheese and onions. We informed our server, and while a new, warm chili was eventually provided, there was a noticeable delay of about 10 minutes for its arrival.
The challenges with timing continued, as our main courses did not arrive until approximately 15 minutes after the replacement chili. The overall progression of our meal felt incredibly drawn out and uncoordinated.
My chicken was well-cooked and the loaded mashed potatoes were enjoyable. However, the most concerning issue was my husband's steak. He is genuinely not a picky eater, but his steak was both severely overcooked and, critically, cold. It appeared it had been sitting for a considerable amount of time, as all its natural juices had dried up beneath it, directly contributing to its unappetizing temperature. This level of quality is simply unacceptable for a steakhouse. Given the prior issues and the state of his meal, he felt no desire to finish it or send it back again.
As we concluded our meal, taking the to-go food for our teen, it was, predictably, also cold. This visit was a significant letdown, characterized by consistent temperature problems and service delays, failing to deliver the good food experience we had truly...
Read moreWe were disappointed when we went to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday. We called ahead to get reservations and we let them know we had a party of 12 coming in for lunch at 1pm. They placed us on the waitlist. When we arrived we were sat at 3 different tables, not together as a group. When we asked about moving the tables together to accommodate the larger group, the waitress said sure, we could move them. When no employee started to move the tables together, my almost 70 year old mother and I started to move one of the tables closer so we could all sit together. A lady came over and told us we couldn't move any of the tables. She told us that it would break us a section of the restaurant if we moved the small table over. We asked if they was another location that we go sit that would accommodate our group of 12 and her answer was " No, this is what we have." I don't believe that a large chain restaurant couldn't accommodate 12 adults or have procedures that would allow moving tables together to sit everyone comfortably. When we told her that our current table only had room for 11 people, not even the 12 we had, she told us we could leave. It was a 1pm on a Sunday in Utah, there was plenty of room. At this point, we really couldn't believe how we were being treated, so we left. 12 Adults celebrating a milestone birthday left with a bad taste in our mouths because the restaurant manager clearly didn't want to deal with a large party, wouldn't help us problem solve to find a solution for their seating areas. Didn't clearly communicate with us on why we couldn't sit together. Didn't plan ahead for a large party, even when we gave them a heads up and went through their own policies and procedures to help them accommodate us. Nothing. They asked us to leave, in which we did. We left and went to another restaurant across the street who sat us right away, without a heads up. Moved 3 tables together so that we could sit and celebrate a birthday. Gave us great service and made sure that we were able to celebrate this milestone birthday with all our...
