I really like the new building with the upstairs deck and the fun little huts out front to sit in when it's cold. It is a fun atmosphere and great for summer nights! It's also nice that they have a drive thru. The custard and Italian ice was really good - I got half mango, half strawberry Pina colada, with vanilla custard. I think the regular size used to be considered a small, but it still is pretty good sized. I might have missed this but I did not really see any napkins or trash areas other than the inside area so that would be nice for them to improve on. My only real complaint though is the lack of customer service. We waited over 20 minutes to get our order of 5 small gelatas and there were only 3 people in front of us in the front area, and there were around 4-5 workers that we could see. It seemed like most of the workers were more interested in talking with friends at the drive thru area than helping with orders. By the time we got ours there were probably another 15 people waiting by the pick up window. I get visiting with friends but when a ton of people are waiting and they can see you chatting and laughing instead of making the small orders it gets a little frustrating. Nothing against them - they were all friendly - just maybe having a bit more training on customer service would be helpful.

Zeppe's used to have custard so dreamy, it'd make angels weep with envy! You'd wanna grab folks by the collar and preach about its creamy goodness! But lately? Lawsy mercy, they done gone and messed it up worse than a dog tryin' to play the banjo! Now it's the kinda place you'd tell a snake to avoid! Used to be finer than a hair split three ways. Now that custard's got lumps like a dirt road after a gully washer, and tastes like a monster sneezed in it. It's a crying shame, I tell ya! Maybe their machine and operators could use a boost šŸ˜‚šŸ˜šŸ¦šŸ¤¢

Online ordering claimed the wait time would be 5-10 minutes, ended up waiting at the store for over 45 minutes. The ice cream was delicious but I really wish that the online ordering had correctly reflected the wait time because it almost certainly would've affected my decision to order at that moment

Edit: I honestly was going to leave my 2 star review with my singular complaint and move on with my life like a rational person, however, looking at the "owner's" response and knowing that an honest to God human read my review and replied like that rekindled my anger at this place. Now, I could be mistaken but I did happen to graduate from elementary school and as such, am very confident in my reading comprehension. Looking at this business on Google Maps quite plainly lists an "Order Online" option that leads you to an option to select "Online Ordering by DoorDash". Now, you might be thinking to yourself, "Well that's exactly what the reply states!" If you did think this, however, you clearly did not graduate from elementary school. Online ordering and DoorDash delivery have a very simple distinction. In one, I pay someone an obscene amount of money to bring my processed slop to my front door. In the other, I, myself, have to sacrifice my time and what little shame I have left to go pick up my own processed slop and bring it to my own front door. Stating that DoorDash picks up AND delivers is just blatantly and provably false. Moving on to the next question you had about my review, the issue with stating that "everything that we have prepared tonight has been on time" is that the phrase "on time" is incredibly vague. I was given a somewhat specific time frame once my order was placed, and I did not receive my order for a considerably longer time. As far as I am concerned, that means your orders were not "on time". I think there probably is a somewhat simple remedy to this issue, which many might find a little insane. Maybe, having more than 3 or 4 poor young ladies working inside to take, make, and serve the orders for over 10 cars in the drive through and 16 people waiting outside. All the while running around inside to attempt to man the windows. Once again, because you rekindled my anger, I was just going to leave it at my original review and move on with my life, however, since I'm already here, I might as well state other things I saw that could possibly influence someone's decision to eat here. Across from the ordering window there are these little huts that you can eat inside of. There's only about 4 of them, I honestly didn't bother looking at them for reasons to be addressed soon, and they easily seem like the most desirable place to consume your frozen treats. Unfortunately, during my time waiting for my order, which again, was almost an hour, I only noticed one singular group leaving their little hut and freeing it for another. I understand that this isn't a restaurant with a server bringing your food to your table, but it really seems like there should be some kind of enforced time limit on the huts. Maybe, if more people were employed, this could be addressed. Finally, the parking lot itself is a complete disaster. It's my opinion that here, in the great country of the United States of America, our standards for parking lots have virtually reached the floor. Somehow, this parking lot still managed to disappoint me. The parking spaces are in the uncanny valley of looking like the correct size, but once you've parked they feel far too small. I drive a modest compact SUV, but parked next to a minivan, with both us as close to being centered as one reasonably can expect, there was hardly a foot between our doors. In conclusion, my family will never be ordering from here again and had I received your average automated reply about reaching out to explain my poor review I would've left this all alone, but upon having my negative review replied to faster than I received my food, it showed me this business's priorities and I feel quite justified in my decision to write over 650 words to complain...

I really like this place, me and my family go every Saturday. The one thing I don’t like about this place is that when you’re paying for your order at the POS (point of sale) it ask you if you want to leave a tip. This is very frustrating considering that a tip should be for delivery services or if you’re being waited on at a restaurant not at a ā€œice creamā€ shop, when we went to get our weekly treat this week my wife orders the same thing every time, which is tigers blood which they did not have. Which we understood but she also get a small cup of custard and they usually fill it up well above the rim of the cup but this time the girls working didnt even fill it to the rim. It was well under the rim as she handed it to me, two of the girls has little smirks on their faces like they were playing some joke on me for not tipping. If you want a tip then go work at a restaurant or delivery pizza or door dash. Very disappointed in my trip to this establishment this...
