I've been a regular since you opened this location. I've been extremely disappointed with how the quality of food has been going down the drain for the past couple of years. Even as simple as wrapping tacos and putting them in a bag correctly, so I don't have all the grease leaking out of the paper bags and into my car...
Yesterday I came in for lunch. At first it was nice to see how quickly the food came out, but definitely spoke too soon. I ordered (2) sopes. First, I realize you don't use fresh pinto beans but why did mine look like a pumpkin puree vs brown refried beans (guessing what you actually use). Then, any time I have ordered asada, there's more fat than actual meat, and the meat looks cooked just enough. My horchata tasted more like iced milk than anything else.
Then there was the food that the person I came with, received. He ordered (2) tacos of al pastor and (2) tacos of lengua. As a chef, he was instantly disgusted with the lengua. He let me know that the lengua was not cleaned up. Each piece still had the skin on there.
We had to wait a few minutes while the (3) servers working, were making one single milkshake.
Once we let the server know, there were no apologies, just attitude and a quick what would you like instead. Once we got other tacos, another server came by to bring the order. No apologies.
Also, why are there ketchup and mustard bottles vs clear bottles to show the green and red sauces. We had a ketchup, mustard and third bottle that clearly showed green sauce. None of them were labeled. So not knowing, not being told when our original order came out either, we asked for red sauce when it could have been on the table already.
Extremely disappointed for the last time. Just...
Read moreFood was extremely dry. Enchiladas only had meat/chicken in them that's it. No beans or cheese on the inside or outside. They literally took a taco shell and rolled up the chicken then put red sauce on top. She'll wasn't cooked. Red sauce and meat! Rice was stiff and beans were dry, they put sour cream on the lettuce and tomato which was on the side of the enchiladas. Lack of flavor. Didn't even finish, threw it out. First bite tasted sweet. Yuck
Review#2 Beans normally come in the inside of an enchilada. In all my years I've never had to ask how a food is prepared at a typical fast food store front establishment. At star Hispanic "restaurants" where food is made fresh Daily, for example Federales downtown Chicago, Fire it Up, Aurora, etc. You never have to ask how something is prepared, you order they make. Enchiladas have beans on inside, not as a side item to clarify AR. The Order was through Uber Eats, I typically don't ask to speak to management on places I don't intend on returning, however thanks for your overdue response, customer service comes first I see, no humbleness...
Read moreFirst and foremost, this review was done after many visits, many chances. The food is just ok. Ok if you're just having a taste for mexican food or don't know any better. The food is bland and always taste different, no consistency. Above all, all their attitudes suck. I personally do not want people cooking my food with horrible attitudes. Honestly if they were in Chicago, they would not get the business they get, competition. It is a no for me. Go to the city for real authentic mexican food.
*Response to "AR" The cook came to the window by the cashier to fix the order 3 separate times. I did not dine in. Non returning customers usually do not ask for Management, they go to better establishments. Also you guys have overcharged a few times and that had to be corrected. Yes, we will continue order and cater from other restaurants, like our friends at Lalos, where we have been respected for over 30 years. Your response is indicative of the negative attitude that many...
