big NO
We ordered pad thai (specifically no meat) and there was literally beef in it! Small pieces as if it was accidentally put into everything.
Fried rice was so weird. It wasnt horrible but ive never seen anywhere make it like this. Huge chunks of raw onion and tomatoe? Couldnt at least dice the onion and fry it in with the rice like the most basic level of culinary knowledge...
Paid $2 extra for shrimp and it was just boiled and gross. Never seen shrimp done like this before with zero flavor and so gamey.
Advertising for halal fest in naperville, but i see no halal certification or claim on menu or anywhere in restaurant... sorta gives a false impression. Then the kicker is a buddah statue by the front register?
Completely ignored my order for extra sauce, in fact the sauce they gave was TINY. Couple drops of sauce for $9? lol. I had to open the stapled shut bag to go order before leaving to check my order, lucky i did bc it was wrong and they didnt even include the bare minimum of chop sticks and napkins. Almost like they staple it to hide the order untill its too late and youve already driven home lol.
Over $40 for two people to eat rice and noodles without any basic level of service offered (sauce, napkins, chopsticks, even a thanks or "have a good one" for giving them business). And they still asked for a tip on a to go...
Read moreWe went here for dinner with friends today and had a great experience! Pros: fresh authentic Thai with lots of chicken, beef and veg options, rice and noodles (they have halal humanely raised/hand slaughtered stickers from Halal Transactions of Omaha, in process of getting officially certified. They no longer serve pork, website and menu are being updated) nice intimate ambiance, with contemporary decor owner Pouy and her manager/business partner are very nice (it was jammed packed when we arrived at 7p Friday night with people waiting, we had a reservation and they prioritized our seating) overall very accommodating people with all the hustle and bustle with hungry people!
Growth Areas: More seating would be nice, the kitchen seems larger than the seating area. Hoping as their business grows, so does their seating area or a new location! Offer more sodas other than regular Coke and Sprite cans, Coke Zero would be nice Hire more staff for servicing Update your website and printed menus asap :)
Overall, nice place to go with family and we will be visiting again! Please keep up your friendly tone at the top and your staff will continue it. Would love to see you guys expand and grow into a larger restaurant serving halal Thai in...
Read morePeak Thai Restaurant is a nice small eatery with a pleasant atmosphere. Although the seating area is on the smaller side, it wasn't crowded during our visit, ensuring a comfortable dining experience. However, one unpleasant factor was the odd and noisy door that urgently needs replacement. Each time someone entered, the loud noise would startle everyone. Regarding the service, it was decent overall. The prices, on the other hand, were quite reasonable for most of the dishes. As for the appetizers, we tried the Crab Rangoon, and it was an absolute delight. The perfect level of crispiness complemented the creamy burst of flavor inside, leaving us craving for more. The Shrimp Roll was also enjoyable, with the basil adding a nice kick to the dish. Moving on to the main courses, I chose the Green Curry. Unfortunately, it fell a bit short as it turned out to be saltier than desired and lacked the coconut flavor I was looking for. It was decent but not outstanding. On the other hand, the Pad Woon Sen had an exceptional taste and texture. The glass noodles were cooked to perfection, offering a delectable experience as they melted in my mouth. Overall, this place is an okay...
