I love the pizza here, but as others have mentioned; the service is pretty bad.
I've only had them deliver once but it was late and the driver had all sorts of problems accepting payment. I don't even understand what went wrong but he had to call the place - apparently he entered it in as $0.00 but I hadn't paid, but it showed as paid? I have no idea, but he stood there for a crazy long amount of time trying to figure it out.
Pickup isn't much better. I ordered pizza and some garlic bread. Show up at the time they give me. The pizza is ready, but they haven't prepared the bread at all. It wasn't even started and running a few minutes late, it was just forgotten. Probably took 10 minutes for them to cook it.
Beyond that, they don't have online ordering and their menu is a subset of the 'usual' Rosati's menu I'm used to from other locations. They don't have 'Stuffed' pizza and if you order 'Deep Dish' the pizza will not match the pictures of deep dish pizza they have on the website. Instead, they'll give you some double-dough thing. I have no idea why this is. About three years ago they told me they were considering expanding the menu but it seems they decided not to.
On the plus side, the staff has always been friendly.
I still go here because I love the pizza...I just don't get it delivered and I never order anything besides...
Read moreI ordered from this location the other night. Ordered a large pizza - 1/2 sausage, 1/2 cheese. When I got there to pick up the pizza, we realized they mistakenly made the pizza wrong (all sausage). Simple error, no big deal. The cashier apologized and offered to give me half off of the pizza they had already made if I didn't have time to wait for a new pizza, or they would make a new pizza and still give me half off. I told him he didn't need to give me half off but I don't eat meat, so I would wait for a new one. I went to the store, came back 20 minutes later and the pizza was ready. To my surprise, they gave me both pizzas!! (my kids do eat meat). I was beyond happy and appreciative. Their good customer service was enough to make the situation right. The half off was nice too. But the extra pizza, that was above and beyond. They didn't have to do that. They could've ate it or tossed it. It was more just a free pizza. It meant the next day that I didn't have to add making lunch for my kids while working from home to my list, or staying on top of the kids' doing remote learning, or caring for our dog, etc. It was a very nice gesture, and I really appreciated it. Read moreWhat a horrible experience I just had at this Lombard location. I called in an order for takeout and mentioned a 10% off coupon I had on the phone. When I got to the store they asked for the coupon and I showed them the virtual coupon I had from their website (that I signed up for with my email). The coupon even said that it was “for the Lombard location only.” The associate immediately grabbed the manager and he very rudely told me that they must have a physical coupon to validate the sale (even though there is no code or anything on the actual physical coupons). He then spent about five minutes trying to figure out how to add the $3.23 back to my bill on the computer so that I wouldn’t get the coupon price (literally $3.23 less)... in addition to this interesting experience, the pizza was so over cooked that the cheese was burnt and the pasta was super runny and you could tell it was just frozen pasta heated up in a commercial microwave. As I walked out of the store, the extremely disrespectful manager stopped me and handed me a coupon book and told me to use this next time...too bad because I will never return to this horrible Rosati’s...
