Me and my husband visited El dorados to see what it looked like after renovations. We looked at the menu and it's almost the same as before, except the prices were higher. That's no surprise really, so we assumed that the food must be amazing. Boy were we wrong, it was mediocre at best , the fajitas weren't even sizzling , I assumed for the price we would at least get that , I got the chicken, cheese and rice with some mixed grilled veggies. Our bill before tip was 46 dollars that's for 2 people that's crazy. The waitress was nice but almost robotic not personable, so if you're looking to spend a lot of money on very mediocre food , then this your place. If you want great food and awesome atmosphere then take your business to Fiesta across the street. We actually visit these different restaurants in the area throughout the year to update our reviews, to see if there are any positive changes. It saddens me to report that these changes were bad. So just go elsewhere. There are just to many Mexican restaurants to choose from. So just go elsewhere, even if you don't want Fiesta, just go...
Read moreI had to give this place 5 stars! My family and I visited the night before July 4th because El Dorado was in walking distance of our hotel. We were so impressed with this restaurant! The food was great, the presentation was amazing, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was so fun! We ordered alcoholic beverages that came out with sparklers and were decorated to the nines! We thought it was someone’s birthday but it was just our drinks! They were also VERY generous with the alcohol in our drinks, they were strong! The vibe of the place is so fun and cool. The decor isn’t your normal “Mexican restaurant” vibe. It honestly felt more like a slightly nightclub vibe with the leather booths and lights! We took a little longer to eat and stayed past closing time and no one rushed us out or complained! They even gave us a discount for staying at the hotel nearby. We couldn’t say enough positive things about this restaurant and we will be visiting it again before we leave...
Read moreWe are from Georgia, specifically where many good Mexican restaurants are located. In comparison, el Dorado is similar to what we have at home. We were not impressed at all with the salsa that was brought to the table. Tasted more like spaghetti sauce than salsa. However, we asked if they had a spicy alternative and we're given a bold flavorful salsa that put the original to shame. I ordered the fajitas carnitas, my wife ordered a plate of nachos how she wanted them, and our kids ordered off of the very extensive kids menu. Food was to us within ten minutes which was quite impressive. Food was very good and well prepared, although not the best we have ever had. If you are looking for a decent Mexican restaurant while traveling, and are craving something spicy, el Dorado's spicy salsa is worthy...
