Oh. My. Goodness. If you absolutely love anything with a bit more oriental style and flavor, Masa Hibachi is the BEST! It’s always my “special treat I’m eatin’!” every time I’m in London, whether I’m with someone else or by myself. Honey, Idc. I’ll take my own self out to dinner. Especially when it’s this good. In fact, I prefer my own company lol. The hostess has always been wonderful and very gracious to me. Even if backed up during dinner rush, and maybe I wanted takeout that time, always made sure I had plenty of napkins, forks and spoons, although I much prefer to eat it with chopsticks (so plenty of those also). They are quite quick getting your takeout order out as well. Even if you’re starving and hadn’t eaten yet that day, saving up for your treat you knew you were gonna get later that day, lol. Sooo you may have ordered for ONE human a full sized order of sushi, AND a combination dinner with rice, shrimp, and yaki if they had it (or just steak). So yes, there’s times when I’ve spent quite a bit for one person here and splurged as a treat — umm, me. Lol but totally, absolutely worth it. And even though I have lost almost 100 lb lately, and my stomach has quite shrunk since I was last there, I wouldn’t care to still get this much food from them just for myself, and literally put it in the refrigerator to keep heating it up and eating on it for as long as it lasts - days… just a couple hours extra? Lol who knows it cares. It’d be refrigerator safe. Then do your preference of that hard way over heat…. Orrrrr just pop her in the microwave! Delicious. Table service is excellent, wait staff have always been excellent. Quite enjoy coming sometimes for lunch, sitting off to myself at a lovely table to maybe read a bit as I eat my delicious sushi roll, and slip away from the world. Every sushi roll I have tried from here, as I like to experiment with food and tire of similar things quickly, has been incredible. Some of them surprising, but oh, so delicious. Their sushi menu is extensive. Wait staff have always been great to me, at least, about ever making any sort of suggestion that day, if I was craving something in particular. Sometimes I enjoy to sit at the hibachi table, as I quite enjoy the show, lol. Where they table wraps halfway round, you may be placed with other couples or family/friend groups you may not know. But it’s never bothered me. I quite enjoy variety. It IS the spice of life, after all. And this restaurant, I believe, is one of London’s best hidden little “spices.” Five stars. 10/10, would definitely recommend, and will enjoy again, any time I’m in London. Thanks for your hospitality, Masa! (Edit: I didn’t talk about delivery service, because I’ve never experienced it. So I cannot say anything about my experience with receiving a delivery from them, but if it’s anything like dine in and takeout service,...
Read moreI have had food from this establishment 4 times. 3 dine-in and 1 take out. Dine-in: I first had the hibachi chicken lunch special. It has fried rice, vegetables, teriyaki chicken, soup and salad. The portion was very good for lunch. The flavor was also good. The service was acceptable, nothing worth mentioning. Dine-in: I had 2 sushi rolls- the chicken tempura and the avocado/cucumber rolls at dinner time. They were good, although the eel sauce in the chicken roll was not my favorite. I ordered a side of spicy mayo to dip the rolls. The service was good, slightly better than the first time. Dine-in: I had the 2 sushi roll lunch special - the same chicken tempura and avocado/cucumber rolls. They were good, no eel sauce or lettuce in the chicken roll. I also ordered the spicy mayo for these. The service was not good. The server brought the side of spicy mayo that was so empty that it was barely enough for half of the food. Also, when the food was delivered to me she placed it on the other side of the table. I was by myself, no other people. I had to reach above the table to get the plate. The chopsticks were not brought to the table either. The server disappeared from the area so I had to stand up and get the chopsticks at the counter. This visit was not enjoyed. Decided to not do dine-in for the next time. Take out: I ordered the same 2 sushi rolls lunch special by phone. Asked for the chicken roll no lettuce, no eel sauce. For the sides I only asked for the soup not the salad. When I picked up the food the bag had the container with the rolls and a container with salad, no soup. Came back to the counter and told him about the error. They changed the salad for the soup but he debated that I wanted the salad, not the soup. I corrected him and left. When I got back to eat my lunch the chicken roll had nothing but the chicken. He put it as no vegetables, rather than no lettuce. It was missing the avocado and the cucumber that is part of the roll (separate from the avocado/cucumber roll). Not a good experience either. Final thoughts: the food was good when delivered accurately. The atmosphere of the restaurant is OK. The service needs improvement. If you visit this restaurant make sure they repeat your order back to you to make sure it is correct. The 2 subtracted stars are mostly service related....
Read moreWas ok. Prices were high for the quality of food. Food wasn't bad but just not great. I went here two nights in a row, 1st night was for sushi. Took a long time to come out. I was told the only hit sake served was nigori. Nigori is meant to be served cold. When I asked for filtered saki, warmed, I was told they couldn't do that. Only the nigori was to be heated. That's not how that works. The sushi I ordered was unavailable so I went with a tuna appetizer that looked like fish swimming in mud. Topped with pickled jalepenos. Not a good flavor. The two rolls were ok. One of them also had pickled jalepenos, just a bad plan. The other was fried and it was just lacking in general. The fish tasted fresh. I got a soft shell crab and it was actually very, very good. I would order that again with some booze. The atmosphere is very nice. The 2nd night I ordered hibachi. Was $60. Was ok. Shrimp was overcooked as was the lobster. Scallops were good. Sauces were lacking. Rice was ok, veggies ok, salad ok, miso soup was not good. I wanted to like this place. Again, it was ok, just not great and for the amount of money, it was not a good value. The hibachi show was great for a family or friends outing. Very entertaining. But, for me, food is the big deal.
Just saw your response. Thank you for responding. Will you improve? What can you do for me...
