My brother said it well, “the pizza was a 10 out of 10. Everything else was awful.” We come on a weeknight around 8:30. The place is pretty busy. We order and sit down to wait for our meals. While we were looking around, we realized not a single table had their order. We began to think we’d be waiting a while… and boy were we right. When the food finally arrived, not a SINGLE DISH was what we ordered. I ordered a SIDE salad. They gave me a full salad and charged us for it! Also, I made it very clear while ordering that I was a vegetarian, so no meat could be on the salad. Still, it showed up with pepperoni. My parents ordered the thin crust pizza, and that’s not what showed up. My brother ordered his pizza without the barbecue drizzled on top, but still it came like that. We were charged incorrectly (about three dollars too much) for one of the pizzas. My family did say the pizzas were surprising good, but that was literally this places only redeeming quality. The table behind us sent back their pizza because it was also incorrectly made. We didn’t even bother because we knew it would be quite the wait. Another table near us never got their food, and they finally asked “did you forget about us?” They indeed did, and these poor people waited for over an hour just to eat. Everyone who worked there were teenagers. They didn’t seem well trained. One server was walking outside to drop off a pizza to an outdoors table and dropped a slice of pizza on the floor. They did nothing about this error, and all the pepperonis just sat on the floor for the entire time we were there. This place needs some serious improvements and to realize that their customers do not deserve to be treated like this. We ended up paying about $10 extra for all our meals to...
Read moreI have lived in Colorado almost 8 years and have always looked forward to trying this famous pizza chain. Last night we ordered a pizza with pepperoncini on half because I have a pretty mediocre spice tolerance compared to the friends I was with (not terrible but definitely not great). The pizza came with LOADS of diced pepperoncini under the cheese throughout the entire pizza, making every piece literally inedibly spicy for me (my friend with a much higher spice tolerance finished his meal but an hour later said his mouth felt sunburned). I tried every slice besides the two that were initially grabbed by my friends, and it was the same all the way around the pizza. But you know what, mistakes happen, let's talk it out with the employees to see if we misunderstood the ordering process, etc.
When the error was brought to the cashier's attention by my friend, the cashier straight up lied and gaslit my party repetitively - he said we had to be wrong, that the peppers were not throughout the whole pizza and we probably just saw a couple diced pieces distributed by the pizza slicer. Even when we explained that it was under the cheese even up to the crust and I was unable to eat any of it, he said he "didn't know what to tell us" and just stared. He didn't consult the kitchen, check our pizza or reciept, or try to clear up any possible misunderstanding we may have had; he clearly just wanted us to walk away from the counter without him having to do anything.
To preempt the cookie cutter response that Beau Jo's has been using to ignore reviews, no, I will not be giving this pizza place another chance. Why would any of us do that? I will be warning any and all friends and tourists that express interest in this pizza chain in the future,...
Read moreI grew up eating this pizza at the original location and at the location in Fort Collins with all my college friends and my family when they came to visit. I was very surprised to see that locations were closing, but happy to see that a newer modeled one was in Lone Tree. After watching an old episode of unwrapped about the mountain pie pizza eating challenge, I wanted to take my new husband there since he had never had a mountain pie before. I read all the reviews cautioning me me about delivery/pick up so we decided to show up in person. The restaurant and the bathrooms were clean and the staff was friendly, but I have to say the quality of the pizza, (particularly the signature mountain pie puffy crust) was not the same. Sigh. There actually is a strip of undercooked dough in the crust making it not puff up all the way. And for those of us that have eaten here forever...we have been putting honey on our crust and we are not able to do that if the crust is just reforming into a dough in your mouth. Sad. The sauce and the toppings were still great and of course, I already expected a high cost. But now I understand some of these negative reviews if the pizzas are just not cooked long enough. I don't think a pizza where you literally order it by saying 1lb, 2lbs, 3lbs etc were ever meant to be designed for a grab and go model. Seems like they can't be rushed or need crusts to be pre-baked before adding toppings. I mean, at the old sit down restaurant you certainly waited longer than 5 minutes and we were all...
