Many times a change in ownership is a good thing, the Colorado Rockies could certainly use one. But in this case, not so much. I noticed differences immediately once the change happened and actually inquired about it the second time I went in after it was sold. Little things like donuts not being cooked fully or slight differences to the flavor. Seeing the 8-10 donut holes I would always get as a long time customer go to 1 or 2. Slowly I've stopped going to this shop. Today was the kicker! Placed my standard order, 3 old fashion glaze, 3 blueberry, 3 cronuts and 3 maple bacon. Got my 4 donut holes. Then went to enter my loyalty info. I was informed that they changed to a Chase POS system and didn't have a way to transfer the points. Sorry! I had well over 1000, probably closer to 1300. The staff didn't seem overly concerned.
Word of mouth and loyal customers are what keep small businesses in business. The previous owners understood this and had a successful enough business that the new owners wanted it. Probably not the best business practice to alienate the very people that made the business what it was.
They are living off the formal glory. I won't be returning.
Adding to my review from over a year ago. Thought I'd give them another try. Big mistake. This place SUCKS! $43 for 14 donuts? What a joke. Employees don't seem to care. No donut holes. Undercooked. You're better off going to any other shop. Did I mention $43...
Read moreThis was our go to place but after today we won’t be back. Out of the last 5 times we’ve tried to go get donuts here, they’ve only been open twice! This is all different days of the week between 8-9am. I understand things come up but we can’t keep getting our kids excited just to get everyone over there and Mr. Donut be closed yet again for some random reason. Then today I show up at 7:50 with my one year old and 5 year old daughters to grab a quick Sunday morning treat and I’m told to either be locked inside while he fulfilled a huge church order or wait outside for 10-15 min. It felt like a weird situation being locked in with my kids so we decided to wait outside… 7-8 min later he unlocks the door just to let a customer out and tells me he still hasn’t started the church order and it will still be another 10-15 min wait if I can quickly grab a few donuts from what is out right now. There were about 10 donuts in the whole display- 10 donuts on a Sunday at 8am. At that point, I couldn’t keep making my 1 year old just stand around and wait so we had to leave. No donuts, sad kids yet again… no customer service and I was made to feel like an inconvenience for coming to buy a donut from this place. Not good.
I hope y’all can hire some more help because the donuts are delicious but not worth anyone’s time if you can’t run the...
Read moreWe recently moved to Colorado and we’re looking for a donut shop and came across this hidden gem right down the street from us. They are small batch, boutique donut shop that put quality over quantity in their product. These donuts are simply amazing. They are so light and fluffy. Although they have some special flavors of donuts, my favorite has their cinnamon twist. Our my kids would argue with me saying that they’re sprinkle. Donuts are much better. This place has become our weekly treat after church and the kids simply enjoy visiting together their donut. The owners are very nice and friendly and they will throw a few donut holes with our order which the kids just get excited about each time. They can get busy, with good reason and can run out of stock on some of their donuts, especially their breakfast croissants. When they have them available I always try to get their sausage croissant as it is delicious...
