😡😡😡😡Too bad, I am limited to a minimum of one star. Here’s the story. Me and my bride went to Paradise to inquire about catering for our wedding. The wedding was scheduled for February 14th, a pretty unforgettable day I would say. The food was amazing and we both had a hard time picking our wedding menu. Finally we decided on the menu, planned it all, went home with a broad smile thinking we were going to blow our guests away with some amazing food. Top notch Indian food for Indian wedding dinner reception in Colorado… felt like a dream. Fast forward to the day, and the dream turned to a nightmare. At 7:15 PM, 15 mins past the scheduled food delivery, I called to inquire the status. And the response beat the daylights out of me. “Yes, we will start at 5:30 and we should be there by 6:45.” And I asked, this is for today? It’s already 7:15. They had spaced the catering was for the 14th, and they were planning it all for the 15th!!!! They tried to rush the order after that. But too little too late. They literally asked me over the phone to resend the address of the wedding venue at 7:20!!! The biggest day of my life was ruined beyond repair. The food arrived around 9:30 or something. My most honorable guests left without having dinner. My bride saw the food and said it didn’t seem like everything was what we had ordered. On my wedding day, my bride left the wedding venue without a bite a food. She was not angry but I could see the disappointment and she just couldn’t eat. We went home hungry on our own wedding day. It sucks that we had both thought of this place to become our go to for when we missed some great Indian food, like home when we missed it. Now we will obviously never go to this place and our disappointment cannot be overstated. I am short of words in describing how pathetic I felt watching guests leave.
Thank you Paradise Tavern. You made my wedding day truly unforgettable… what was otherwise a wonderful day all along, will now be remembered by us, our friends and our family… for the wrong reason. Now, instead of sending thank you messages to my guests, I am going to spend my time sending apologies. I hope you will take this lesson seriously and it will help you in avoiding screwing up someone else’s...
Read moreThe concept of the tavern is amazing especially for Indians. Imagine eating pav bhaaji while watching the broncos or the rockies while enjoying a beer at a tavern. This restaurant provides that. The butter scotch and pineapple cake was very very tasty. The cashew curry and biryani were also good.
With that said we went on a Sunday evening. The service was extremely slow and the servers a but confused as they came to our table with items we didn't order a few times. I am hoping that the owner takes this as constructive criticism as I do like the fact that this restaurant exists.
We waited a lot in between getting all the items ordered. Almost 20 to 25 minutes in between order when everything was ordered at the same time. Additionally many of our orders came without serving spoons. I had asked the host about the size of the soup to get an idea of how much to order. The host didn't know this. They gave me a wrong size and we ordered a smaller quantity for the table. We also asked for smaller bowls to share but they came after us finishing the soup. After tasting we didn't mind it as the manchow soup didn't have the Manchow taste at all. Also the Gobi 65 didn't have the taste required for Gobi 65, so a bit disappointed in those 2 items.
Once again this review is not to bad mouth the restaurant. It is a wonderful concept and I am hoping that the owner works on some of points mentioned above. There isn't a restaurant like this in all of Colorado so I really appreciate the owner building this concept for the residents of Colorado.
In regards to the owner, when we went the restaurant was not super busy and became super busy after some time. The owner (i think he was the owner or manager) was on his laptop when we came however he noticed that they were getting busier and stepped in like a boss should to help his people. He was not only guiding his staff but also getting his hands dirty and helping with the work. He also came and checked in on us many times. We just didn't feel like complaining right then but wanted to let the owner know of some pros and cons of...
Read moreGreat food. Authentic Indian + fusion food. Brimming with spices. I ordered the goat vindaloo and there was fresh star anise in it. One of the few places that serve goat meat. Came in a huge group with kids, we were noisy, I hope we didn't bother the staff too much. lol Everything in it tasted like it was cooked by someone's grandma but presented with modern sensibilities. Staff was very accommodating. The place is designed like a modern tavern with a very nice bar (just looked inside but didn't order anything from bar) and surrounding food area, looks like it can accommodate A LOT. At the moment there are a lot of people ordering out, so the place was pretty empty (they still need publicity). Fusion food include cheese fries and nachos Indian style as well as szechuan chicken etc made in their style. If you are not a fan of spiciness, you might want to tell them to do something extra mild (they're very accommodating, surely they can tone the spiciness down a bit). We ordered a bunch of food and tested much of the menu (there are two, one for Indian food, and one for mostly fusion bar food). If you are in the bar just chilling, try goat pepper steak + garlic naan (super soft and creamy, garlic flavor off the scale) + amber ale (I didn't drink anything tonight but it would taste good with it). The desserts are great as well. There are traditional Indian selection as well as modern pastries (try the mango cake, it's really good). I think they also have many halal selection if that's in your preference. Only negative thing I could think of right now is probably their actual menus...I'm assuming this was made hastily because of pandemic restrictions (seen this in other restaurants lately as well) that its only one page. I'm sure they'll expand them with lots of good pictures in the future so that people don't need to look at phones for pictures of some of the Indian dishes that aren't too familiar to Americans. I hope they get more recognition and more foot traffic now that everything...
