This place has the BEST lattes, and always has delicious bakery items to snack. For drinks, I usually get just a plain iced latte -and the coffee flavor in it is impeccable. Their blackberry latte is a seasonal drink, and its the only "flavor" I prefer over just a plain one. I seem to try a flavored latte every once and a while, and no matter where I am getting espresso drinks from, all the other flavors everywhere always just seem to take away from the coffee flavor for me.... except for Monk and Mongoose's blackberry. It seems to compliment it. It is my absolute favorite latte in the Denver-metro area. I crave it. I wish it was on their menu year-round - I'd be going out for coffee a lot more often! The atmosphere inside is clean and modern. There is a comfortable soft-seat seating group, plenty of tables inside, and several tables outside on a smaller patio area. It is right by a little park (Belvedere), and the Douglas County Lonetree library, so we like to go there to grab books with our kiddo before or after too.

This is decent coffee place, nice ambience and well located within the neighborhood with good parking space on the street. Even thou this place has good ambience and quite good in-door and outdoor seating option but it lacks charging points for you laptop and tablets. Juice up your electronic gadget before you arrive or bring a battery pack. Drinks and food little expensive side. I wouldn't mind price for the coffee since they are made to order and taste good but the food is terrible . The food seems to be brought from some where else , re-heated and are not up to standards. I ordered chocolate croissant and it was prolly worst croissant ever tasted. Even gas station serves better croissant than this coffee shop. The chocolate in the croissant so creamy and sugary with void of chocolate flavor. The flour used in croissant taste very cheap quality. Please do not serve food here, you are not a bakery/food place just stick to providing quality coffee drinks.

What a cool little spot to hit up. I flew into Denver and took a not cost friendly Uber over to this place to meet my sister. I am so grateful that the latte was good! Lattes are what I always order the first time somewhere. It's just so I can get a feel of how their espresso is and how they make things. If you mess a latte up, I normally don't come back often. This one with almond milk and vanilla was quite smooth and flavorful. The staff was pretty kind but definitely didn't want to take the time to help me on my first visit in decide what I should go with. There is this other latte that my sister got but it wasn't suggested and she was not up there so I just went basic. I wouldn't be angry if she wanted to go back at all. It was worth the stop and the uber bill......

I would put zero stars but then system won't post! NEVER will go back - EVER. WE HAD RESERVED THE PRIVATE ROOM FROM 12:30 - 4:30 on Monday March 5. I booked with Emily on 2/21, confirmed with Claudia on 2/26 and confirmed the day of with Lin (Lis). Apparently, a woman booked the same room online over the weekend. Our meeting was in session when the other woman showed up. To say that Rylie, the manager in charge, handled the situation poorly, is being kind. After waiting for Rylie to make several calls to handle the situation, she handed me the phone, didn’t make any type of introduction, and walked away. The person on the phone was the owner’s wife, Amy (possibly Emily, bad connection). The owner, was snowboarding and unavailable. Amy asked me to describe the situation, which I did, and by the end of the conversation said she would call the other party, and that we could have the room. I even went so far as to summarize my understanding of what she said to be sure we were clear. She confirmed. As I was returning the phone to Rylie, she, in front of customers, announced to me that she didn’t appreciate how I treated her. I said, “Rylie, I’m going to stop you right there because I have MY list of what I don’t appreciate – but the problem has been resolved and I’m going to stop you before you say something that makes it worse. I left. About an hour later the 4 people in my group came walking through our office door. The woman who had made the online reservation had called the police and angrily disrupted our meeting. Yes, called the police! We booked once and confirmed twice (names and dates provided) and that was how we were treated and the situation so BEYOND POORLY handled by Monk & Mongoose. We will be contacting Better Business and filing a complaint, spreading on our social media, as well as contacting the local community newspaper. Monk & Mongoose –...

Unprofessional staff and owner. This morning, even though the girl who took my order said my name correctly, the owner insisted on mispronouncing my name. When I found coffee grounds at the bottom of my drink, I mentioned this, but the owner scolded me insisting they weren't coffee grounds, refused to remake it, and refused my money back, and then she ordered me to leave. This escalated so fast, I couldn't believe it. I said, "excuse me, but..." and she interrupted and ordered me to leave over and over. As I told her it was completely ok to mispronounce my name, she kept talking over me, ordering me out, completely unwilling to answer why I was being treated so poorly. I could not figure out why they would intentionally mistreat a customer. I even said good morning to the owner, but she didn't smile or anything. I left, letting her know this was the worst experience I've ever had, and I left without the coffee ground filled drink they made. Once I got outside and called my wife, she reminded me I was wearing a patriotic hoodie, so THAT explains why the owner didn't say good morning, why she intentionally mispronounced my name repeatedly, even after being corrected, why she put coffee grounds in my drink, why she refused a refund or remake, and why she loudly demanded I leave. She can go to the videotape to remind her how polite I was. No problem, she doesn't need my money, so I'll give it to small businesses that respect...

Husband and I have been trying small coffee shops all over Denver and wherever we travel for a couple years now. We know Monk and Mongoose is a chain but we enjoy the one over off Quebec and Belleview very much and have visited it a couple times while in the area so we thought we would try this one after shopping at Park Meadows last week. We always get vanilla lattes so that we can compare fairly but this day I decided to try a vanilla oat milk chai. The flavors were great in both drinks but they were barely warm! We didn’t need sleeves for the cups at all. We got ours to go and by the time we had walked to our car andI had a sip it was too cold to enjoy and I decided to save the rest of mine to warm up after we got home in 20 minutes! It was a chilly, windy day and we decided to treat ourselves to an afternoon coffee to warm up. These did not warm us up. We were both so disappointed. And honestly, by the time we got home and I warmed mine up, it just wasn’t very good. We would have stayed to drink our drinks but the place was so busy it was an obstacle course just trying to get to the loo, which btw, really needed some attention. It was a disappointing visit and we prob’ly won’t be back to...
