Amended Review: Bad experience turned around…… Upon learning how bad my experience was, (see below) the General Manager reached out to me AND to the people I was trying to send food to. The GM was incredibly apologetic and went above and beyond to rectify the situation. He took full ownership, although he had not even been there that day, and stated he would address the epic failure in customer service. Furthermore, the GM, on his own volition delivered a beautiful display of food to my friends, the following week, and included a gift card. He was very gracious and could not apologize enough!
Bad experience: I was incredibly disappointed and very upset about an order I placed with Newk’s. I ordered several items thru EZ catering from this restaurant. I live in another state the only way to get an order delivered to someone was thru EZ Cater. I received confirmation that the caterer “Newk’s” received and confirmed the order. The order was never made and therefore never delivered. Newk’s claims they never received it and blames EZ Cater however, I have the confirmation saying they did in fact accept the order. When I reached out to Newk’s after dealing with EZ Cater, the Newk’s mgr did not care did not want to make it right or anything. It was the worst experience with a restaurant I have EVER had. If they were the last place on earth to eat, I would not darken their foot steps. I wish I had read the negative ratings before I used them. Read moreI rarely leave bad reviews, but this one is well-earned. I stopped in for lunch and was met with an incredibly frustrating situation that was handled poorly from start to finish.
Their payment system was having issues — I attempted to pay four separate times, and each time my card was approved by the machine but the order wouldn’t go through to the kitchen. Instead of taking ownership or finding a workaround, the cashier kept insisting I “just try again,” resulting in four pending charges on my bank account totaling $240 — for a meal I never even received.
When I asked if he could take the order manually or find another solution, he was completely dismissive and borderline rude. Snide remarks like, “Don’t you know how pending charges work?” and “It’s not my system, I don’t know what you want me to do about it,” made an already stressful situation even worse. He said he’d speak to management but never brought anyone over to help or resolve the issue.
At no point was there any accountability, empathy, or effort to provide a real solution. I walked out frustrated, hungry, and now dealing with multiple pending charges I have to sort out with my bank — all for a lunch I never received.
Newk’s, this was unacceptable. You need to train your staff better on customer service and what to do when your system fails. I won’t be returning, and I hope others think twice before doing...

1-2* for the service. The cashier must have been having a terrible day, because she was downright unpleasant. They weren't particularly busy, and she was chatting with another woman. She was openly agitated that we were there, and was quite impatient as we tried to decide what we wanted (first time there and all). Then, a bit later, we noticed that they had forgotten to put my wife's dressing on the side. We were not mad, just wanted it fixed. The salad had too much dressing on it and wouldn't get eaten in its state. My wife always takes the dressing on the side so she can put as little as she likes. My wife walks up and says basically "no big deal but can I get a new salad? You forgot to put the dressing on the side." The cashier, now behind the counter, mutters it wouldn't be a big deal if you had told me you wanted it on the side. Yeah, i was there and my wife did tell you, you were just too annoyed to listen.
Staff was not all bad though. The woman that brought out the food and the new salad was pleasant as hell. If she had been the only staff member to interact with us, this would be...
