Oh man, what a find! We came on a week day around 10 and there were just a few other folks dining in or waiting for take-out. I got the Banana pancakes combo with sausage and eggs. The latter two were as expected but the banana pancakes were amazeballs- not to mention, much larger than I thought they would be! My hubs got the country fried steak (of which they only have a limited supply, so come early), soft poached eggs, homestyle potatoes, and the biscuit and gravy, all of which were phenomenal!
The staff was super friendly, and came by a few times to check on us and top off the coffee. Overall we had a great experience!
My one complaint is the parking situation. The lot is pretty small and a few of the spots are reserved for other businesses. We found a spot this time, but since the hubs and I ate so much, we figure we could afford to walk it off a bit decided that next time we'll find parking behind the car dealerships and walk from there. The food, value, and friendly staff are worth it- can't...
Read moreWell this place was a welcome surprise! I had some early morning business in Long Beach and stumbled upon Country Kitchen when looking for a breakfast spot. How can you go wrong with a name like that.
Walked in to a full restaurant at 9:30am but was seated right away by a friendly woman. I ordered black tea and the veggie omelette, but asked for it as a scramble. She came back in less than two minutes with my tea. I dropped the tea bag into the water, squeezed some honey and stirred the spoon, I glanced up and my eggs were being delivered. Wow! That has quick!
Nice touch with the potatoes served on top of the eggs. Side salsa was the perfect addition. Eggs were cooked perfect, not to hard or to soft. Breakfast was a hit, glad I found this spot and so should you.
Parking might be a little tight with the limited...
Read moreI believe country kitchen is a chain across America and I wasn’t excited to come here but a group came as a collective so I went along for social aspect. I had the chicken sandwich which came on a big bun. It comes plain so I got a side of mayo and a salad with balsamic. The salad was pretty basic but the sandwich was actually very tasty and hearty. The price was also really good. As for the rest of the menu it was standard fare like you’d find at a breakfast and brunch place. Staff was friendly and accommodating and the food came in a timely manner. I probably wouldn’t go back on my own because it doesn’t have too many health conscious options but otherwise it’s not a bad place for a meal. None of my friends were...
