I found this place about 3 years ago while visiting Long Beach. I finally had the opportunity to go back this past weekend and it’s as good as I remember. The service here is amazing, the restaurant is run by a handful of very friendly ladies. They were very attentive and helpful with the menu. I ordered chicken fried dumplings for my appetizer with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. For my entrees I ordered the chicken pad Thai and the spicy fried rice with chicken. Everything was tasty! We ordered the spicy fried rice under ‘medium’ spicy and it was a little too spicy for my taste, but still bearable and delicious. Keep that in mind if you can’t handle spicy foods. I also ordered a young coconut water. Very refreshing. And this place doesn’t serve alcohol. But no biggie, their Thai ice tea and other beverages go great with the dishes. Can’t wait to go back.

Very good food. The quantity was a lot! We were more than full with our meals. Ordered Egg Rolls, Veg pad Thai with tofu, veg pad see eww with tofu and 2 Thai teas. The best part was that there was less wastage, they use paper straws and reusable steel cutlery. They have paper boxes and paper bags for to-go. Love it when restaurant owners are being responsible and not adding more pollution to our beautiful planet. :) New update- Re-visited again and this restaurant never failed us. The food was yummy as usual. We ordered Golden Tofu, Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, Mango with Sticky Rice, and Thai iced tea. The staff was courteous and friendly. Quick service. The ambiance was good, no complaints. Their portions are big, their billing is very reasonable. Returned home happy with our stomachs full and our pockets not bruised, lol. :)

This place is amazing!! Great customer service, and the food is so delicious!! Great price and great portions. I had the Thai ice tea, didn't take a pic :/, but it was really good, it had a tangy taste to it, very sweet though. The chicken satay was delicious, the chicken was marinated really well. I had the spicy shrimp fried rice and it was amazing!! Definitely very spicy!! I drank a lot of water. My bf had the curry soup with chicken and egg noodles, not sure what it's called, but it's from the northern Thai section of the menu. It was super delicious as well!! And that says something because I'm very picky when it comes to curry being too sweet and not spicy enough. The mango rice dessert was soo good!!! 😋 The mango was fresh and perfect ripeness, and the rice and sauce was so good. Will come back!!

I've been here twice now and I'm kicking myself for not coming more often! This is hands down the best Thai place in the Long Beach area and I'd venture to say it's one of the best in California! To be honest, I've never written a restaurant review before but this place was so good I was compelled to. It's hard to even find Khao Soi outside of Northern Thailand much less good Khao Soi, and theirs was the best! It brought me back to sitting outside at a street vendor in Chiang Rai watching the clock show! I've not tried anything else here because I was too blown away by this dish, but if it's any indication, I'm sure the rest of the menu is amazing too.

Service is always very prompt and done with a smile! And as an added bonus, they have a small amount of parking out back so you don't have to deal with finding street parking.

All in all I urge you to visit Elephant Thai! You won't be...

Update Feb 2024 Continue to love this place. The prices have gone up and if you get a dish and drink you should expect to pay $20-25 per person. But that is par for the course for Thai food in LA now. But sadly just can't come as often with our own budget constraints Original post below

This is one of my top 2 places for Thai food in Long Beach. Excellent and authentic flavor, the right amount of spicy and decent prices make this place a gem. The chef is from Northern Thailand so you can order dishes that are unique to that area, something that really makes this place stand out. I have never eaten such delicious Khao Soi (a northern Thai noodle dish) outside of Thailand. Only dish I have had here that was just so so was the pad krappow moo krob (stir fry with basil and fried pork belly), but that is a novelty dish...
