Ruby Motel — Hotel in Long Beach

I cannot thank you enough. We had an extremely stressful day... 12 hour drive from Southern Oregon to handle a family emergency.. then we got the run around from 2 other motels.. we were tired, we were hungry and we were beyond stressed at that point. I found the Ruby Motel online, excellent reviews, the rooms looked nice, great location and the price was in our budget. We pulled up and for the first time on this trip were smiling. This pictures don't do it justice. We were promptly checked in by the sweetest woman. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. We were worried about our vehicle getting broken into, she assured us it would be safe and put us in a room that had a direct line of sight of the car to ease our minds even more. The room was very clean, bed was so comfortable and the location is EXCELLENT. We booked the room 5 minutes before we arrived, last minute booking cost us $102 and they required a $20 cash deposit that would be returned at check out. We only had $23 in CASH on us.. she immediately tried hand it back to us.. She was going to wave the required cash deposit for us because she was worried that was all the money we had left. We told her we had money on our cards for dinner and not to worry. We cannot thank you enough for being the light on an otherwise dark day. The guy at the front counter was extremely rude on the phone. We asked if there was a deposit required and he told us no but we had to pay cash even though the web site states they take credit cards. He told us to come over right away so we arrived at 1:45. When we got there he told us room 5 was available but to come back at 2. When we questioned this he stated I told you to come after 2 which is a lie. He told us he would hold room 5 for us since we had registered. We came back after 2 and he told us we we're in room 12 when we reminded him he told us we would have room 5 he lued and said he never said this. During this entire time he was extremely rude. He barely spoke English.

The person next door had friends over for 4 hours and they were really loud. The policy is no friends or visitors which is posted and the guy at the counter rudely told us. They do not enforce this.

When I got to the room the bed was hard to get into but comfortable. The floor was dirt, the sink wouldn't drau , and the shower...

Definitely not what i expected. I was blown away ,The rooms are very nice, king size bed super comfortable, mini fridge nice a cold, microwave huge plus, shower is huge with perfect water pressure, air conditioning unit beautiful, the room smelled clean when we entered. The office staff has meet all our needs, now this is why i only gave 4 stars because of the rude maid. We are staying 2-3 weeks until our apartment were renting is ready for move in. This lady wants to argue over the little necessities we need for our room. I asked for 2 toilet papers because they go quickly being a cheap brand, she said "No No you can have 1. Towels i asked for a extra wash cloth an 2 more body size towels. I use 1 for my body & 1 for my hair. My husband uses 1 sometimes 2 an she wanted to know why i need so many towels.
