Frida's Modern Mexican — Restaurant in Long Beach

As a person who loves to try new up and coming restaurants in our amazing Long Beach community, this particular one popped up on my IG feed. My partner and I were seeking out a new place to try and decided to try out Frida's modern Mexican.

Upon arrival, the decor is very on trend, very modern, and super welcoming. There are many tables with plenty of room to be comfortable.

The menu is super easy to read, even with ambient lighting. The menu offered an array of options which include gluten free (not a designated gluten free establishment. I am celiac and speaking for myself, I have had no issues.), vegan options, as well as seafood.

The menu also offers dessert, beer, wine, sangria, fresh agua Fresca, and non alcoholic beverages.

The first time, yes.. we have been twice already... I ordered a white wine, my partner a lagunitas ipa. For dinner I order the seafood soup, my partner the chicken fajitas. Both were absolutely delightful!

My soup was incredible. It was guajillo chili based sauce which was light, aromatic, and very very savory. Inside was a variety of seafood of which included clams, mussels, shrimp, fish, and bay scallops. It also included fresh corn and lemon.

My partner was quite impressed with his fajitas. He said the chicken was marinated, very moist, and flavorful.

Our second time, I ordered the sangria which was delicious and made to order. We both ordered the enchiladas. Me the shrimp and him the chicken, both topped with red and green sauce served with rice and beans. We were once again blown away. The flavor was aromatic yet light, the protein was not overcooked, the rice was moist and not dry/sticking, the black beans were soooo goood!

The service was awesome! I believe our server was Maribelle/maribella... pardon me if I messed it up. Either way, she was very attentive, answered all of our questions, came to engage and check on us throughout our dinning experience, and really left us feeling satisfied and valued as a new guest at Frida's.

Will we be back again? OF COURSE!!!!!!! I can not wait to try out their vegan options!!!!!

My husband and I have already gone TWICE. We fell in love with the wet burritos! Everything is served hot and fresh. The appetizers are so delicious I can't wait to try more of the menu. Waiter is kind and attentive. Would definitely recommend to anybody looking for something new...
