La Michoacana Heladeria Tradicional — Restaurant in Long Beach

Bought a cake from here for the first time because it was a labubu cake. Last time following a hype. The cake was flavorless, a thick layer of flavorless frosting about an inch thick. The cake batter itself tasted like if it was around other foods. We went to let them know and brought the cake to the people that work there. They told us to return so I went back the next day to speak to the manager Cynthia, we were gaslighted that all their cakes are so good and they always have returning customers. I let her know that just because something is popular doesn’t mean that it makes it good. They brought up about their return policy and I told them if they are so good and they are so confident about their cakes then they would not have that policy. According to Cynthia the owner asked her what she thought and of course the cake taste fine to her. She did not want the owner to call so I could speak to them directly. Nasty cake. Walmart cake would have been much more better. The kids did not want to eat any...

Horrible experience. On February 1st I went to order a cake for my mother in law and I showed Cynthia (girl that took my order and “cake decorator”) a picture of a cake that was made for my niece at the Hemet Michiocana. She promptly said that she could make the same exact design. I asked for red and white and roses to cover the sides and part of the top of the cake. When I picked up on February 2nd, the color on the supposed red roses looked orange and the flowers were not properly shaped. The very nice girl that helped me was very apologetic and quick to attempt to resolve my issue. She called Cynthia and asked what could be done. Her solution was to give me my money back or for me to take the cake as is. I had no other option than to take the cake because my mother in law was heading back home to Texas in the morning the next day. I don’t recommend anyone to order ice cream cakes from here. My wife and I stopped here May 3 during COVID season to get some tasty ice cream and use the rest room. First comment, this whole place is impeccably clean. Whoever maintains, paints and cleans needs about $60 an hour. Super impressive. The bathroom was clean enough to eat in. The ice cream was incredible, served in portions that will satisfy any true aficionado. The "Bionico" was better than any I've had, the mango, strawberry, apple and cantaloupe were fresh and firm, the cream just the right amount of sweet.
